A new spectrofluorimetric determination of iridium(IV) with 3-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenyl-4-pyridone (HX) or 3-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-(4-tolyl)-4-pyridone (HY) is reported. Iridium(IV) react with HX or HY and chelates were extracted into chloroform or dichloromethane. The organic phase showed fluorescence. The fluorescence measurements to quantify iridium were carried out in its fluorescent band centred at λex=373 nm and λem=480 nm. Under optimal conditions, the calibration graphs were linear over the concentration range of 0.1-7.6 μg ml−1 of iridium for Ir(IV)-HX and 0.1-5.8 μg ml−1 for Ir(IV)-HY with a correlation coefficients of 0.999 and 0.992 and relative standard deviation of ±1.1%.The method is free from interference by Rh(III) and Pt(IV), which normally interfere with other methods. Iridium can be determined in the presence of 300-fold excess of rhodium(III) and 10-fold excess of platinum(IV).The method was applied successfully to the determination of iridium in some synthetic mixtures and mineral sample gave satisfactory results.  相似文献

Point‐to‐point micro‐Raman and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) techniques were employed for characterization of minerals present in the pottery body of 27 glazed Byzantine and Ottoman pottery shreds, excavated at two different archaeological sites in the Republic of Macedonia: in Skopje (Skopsko Kale) and in Prilep (Markovi Kuli and Sv. Atanas Church). The Raman spectra of 18 Byzantine samples (dating from 12th−14th century) and nine Ottoman samples (dating from 17th−19th century) revealed 26 different minerals. XRD measurements were further performed on the same powder samples to validate the mineralogical assessment obtained by point‐to‐point micro‐Raman spectroscopy. Although only 13 different mineral phases were obtained by the XRD, the results obtained from the Raman and XRD spectra for the most abundant minerals in the investigated pottery bodies match quite well. However, the identification of the less abundant minerals in the clay matrixes from the XRD data was very difficult, if at all possible. The results emphasize the specifics of the applied techniques and their limits. Additionally, wavelength dispersive X‐ray fluorescence spectroscopy was used for the elemental analysis. Simultaneous sorption of benzene and heavy metals onto two organoclays   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
An experimental study was performed to determine the feasibility of using hexadecyltrimethylammonium bentonite clay (HDTMA-clay) and benzyltriethylammonium bentonite clay (BTEA-clay) for simultaneous sorption of benzene and one of four heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Zn and Hg). Specifically, the role of competition between benzene and each heavy metal was studied. The sorption of Pb, Cd, and Zn on both BTEA- and HDTMA-clay decreases in the presence of benzene relative to the sorption obtained without benzene present. This indicates that there is competition between Pb, Cd, and Zn and organic compounds during sorption onto both organoclays. On BTEA-clay, Cd, Pb and Zn sorption was reduced by 24, 37, and 51%, respectively. On HDTMA-clay, Cd, Pb, and Zn sorption was reduced by 25, 30, and 57%, respectively. Hg sorption was not affected either by the presence of benzene or by the organoclays used. The sorption of benzene onto BTEA-clay in the presence of Hg, Zn, Pb, and Cd was less than the sorption observed when no heavy metal was present. The presence of Hg resulted in the most significant decrease in sorption, causing a 59% reduction in benzene sorption. The presence of Zn, Pb, and Cd caused a 41, 35, and 31% reduction in benzene sorption, respectively. In general, sorption of benzene onto HDTMA-clay was not affected by the presence of the heavy metals, indicating there are no competitive effects observed with Zn, Cd, and Hg when HDTMA-clay was the sorbent. However, the presence of Pb did cause a 20% reduction in benzene sorption to HDTMA-clay. Both organoclays tested had dual sorptive properties for both heavy metals and an organic contaminant. While the competitive effects were greater for the BTEA clay, both organoclays are capable of simultaneously removing benzene and either Zn, Cd, Hg, or Pb from aqueous solution.  相似文献

In order to gain some understanding of and to characterize the materials used in Byzantine glazed ceramic finds in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as to obtain information on their manufacturing technology, micro‐Raman spectra of 15 representative glazed shards, all dated from 12th to 14th century, were recorded. The elemental composition of the body and glaze of selected shards was obtained by scanning electron microscopy‐energy dispersive X‐ray spectrometry (SEM‐EDXS). At least 17 different minerals in the ceramic body were identified from the Raman spectra, among which were a variety of feldspars (microcline, albite and sanidine) as well as andradite, apatite and forsterite. According to the identified minerals, locations of the used raw materials in the vicinity of the archaeological sites are proposed. There is a good correlation between the polymerization index derived from the Raman spectra and the lead content obtained from the SEM‐EDXS analyses, therefore the firing temperature of the analyzed glazes could be assessed. The SEM‐EDXS analyses showed the presence of different coloring agents (Cu, Co, Cr, Sb) as well as opacifying (Sb) and fluxing (Pb) agents in the glaze matrix. In the Vinica Fortress, Republic of Macedonia, 50 undamaged terra cotta icons and 100 fragments, all dated 6th-7th century, were found. In order to determine the provenance of these unique terra cotta icons, the mass fractions of 19 different chemical elements were previously determined in ten fragments of the terra cotta icons and thirty three samples of clays from eight different sites from the region. Due to the dimensionality and complexity of the experimental data, the archaeometric results were treated with self-organising maps (SOM). The results obtained using SOM were compared with the ones obtained using principal component analysis. Both chemometric methods revealed that Vinica terra cotta icons were made from clay from Grncarka, 2.5 km South-East from the Vinica Fortress.  相似文献

Ascorbic acid (AA) is the active ingredient of vitamin C chewable tablets. It is unstable even at room temperature, and increased temperature and humidity rapidly increase its degradation. To protect the active substance, we made its coating with polymers ethyl cellulose that provides its thermal protection and protection from moisture. We bet each particle of AA with a layer of polymer by the method of fluidization. Extra protection against thermal effects and penetration of moisture and oxygen provides the packaging. By using four kinds of packaging: polypropylene container for tablets, strips of aluminum and polyvinyl chloride Al/PVC strips, glass bottles, and strips of aluminum and polyethylene (Al.PE/PE.Al) of 3, of 6 months and of 12 months. One of the tablets are stored at room temperature (25 ± 2 °C/60% RH ± 5%), and the rest in terms of accelerated aging or increased temperature and humidity (30 ± 2 °C/65% RH ± 5% and 40 ± 2 °C/75% RH ± 5%). The speed of degradation of unprotected AA usually get doubled when there is increasing of the temperature for every 10 °C. Experimentally the concentration of AA was monitored, its oxidation product-dehydroascorbic acid and its degradation product-diketogulonic acid.  相似文献
