Structural and spectroscopic analysis of hot filament decomposed ethylene deposited at low temperature on silicon surface

The deposition of decomposed ethylene on silicon wafer at lower temperature using hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) method was applied to compose thin film of carbon and its compounds with silicon and hydrocarbon structures. The films were analyzed using Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy with elemental microanalysis by energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer. The structure and morphology of the early stage of the film deposition was analyzed. The obtaining of SiC as well as diamond-like structure with this method and catalytic influence of chemical admixtures on the film structure and properties are discussed.     

On the Smoothness of a Generalized Solution of the First Initial Boundary-Value Problem for Strongly Parabolic Systems in a Cylinder with Nonsmooth Base with Respect to Time Variable

We consider the first initial boundary-value problem for strongly parabolic systems in an infinite cylinder with nonsmooth boundary. We establish conditions for the existence of generalized solutions, an estimate for this solutions, and an estimate for the derivative of the solution.     

Polar angle dependence of the longitudinal polarization of quarks produced in e+e−-annihilation

We calculate one-loop radiative QCD corrections to the three polarized and unpolarized structure functions that determine the beam-quark polar angle dependence of the longitudinal polarization of light and heavy quarks produced in e⁺e^?-annihilations. We present analytical and numerical results for the longitudinal polarization and its polar angle dependence. We discuss in some detail the zero-mass limit of our results and the role of the anomalous spin-flip contributions to the polarization observables in the zero-mass limit. Our discussion includes transverse and longitudinal beam polarization effects.     

Defect of the five-thirds law using the Wiener-Hermite expansion

Application of the refined Wiener-Hermite expansion with moderate to high Reynolds numbers Re to homogeneous, isotropic turbulence is presented. The results show a defect to Kolmogorov's five-thirds law, increase in the absolute value of the exponent comparable with many theoretical predictions. Midrange spectra up to fluctuation Reynolds numbers of 10⁸ show little, if any, dependence of the defect on Re, as long as the initial spectra do not deviate too far from their equilibrium states. The renormalization scheme has also been proven to have no effect on the final shape of the spectrum.     

Carrier-mediated transport of yttrium(III) through a supported liquid membrane containing TOPO in n-dodecane

Transport of yttrium(III) from nitrate medium through liquid membrane containing tri-n-octyl-phosphine oxide (TOPO) in n-dodecane, supported on a nucleoporous filter, into a strip solution with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) has been studied. The kinetic dependences of transport were obtained and compared with a model, resulting in calculation of permeability coeffients and initial fluxes of yttrium. The influence of salting-out agent, initial metal and nitric acid concentrations in the feed, and of concentration of carrier in membrane are discussed.
