The article presents an interactive approach to the design of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) filters that combines classical design methods for multi-resonator systems with a semi-heuristic integer optimization method. This approach proves to be exceptionally efficient from the computational point of view and generates a whole range of different filter designs with virtually equivalent spectral properties. The article also considers a method for analyzing the sensitivity of WDM filters to manufacturing errors. The sensitivity analysis relies on computer simulation of thin-layer coating with optical monitoring of layer thickness by the turning point method. This analysis enables the designer to assess alternative filter designs with the purpose of improving manufacturing efficiency.  相似文献

We present the results of studying the phenomenon of synchronization in distributed electron–wave self-oscillatory systems with a counterpropagating wave. General laws governing the appearance of the classical synchronization in distributed systems are revealed. We propose methods for increasing the synchronization bandwidth by using the distributed input of a signal to the interaction space by means of coupled waveguide structures. Transient processes in nonautonomous self-oscillation regimes are studied. In particular, the effect of ultrafast synchronization is found. The possibility of chaotic synchronization in a gyro-oscillator with a counterpropagating wave under the action of a deterministic chaotic signal is shown. Mutual oscillation regimes in a system of two distributed oscillators with coupled waveguide systems are studied.  相似文献

The problem of calculating the noise factor of a traveling-wave gyrotron is solved for a model of a thin annular multistart-helical electron flux taking into account the effect of the quasistatic space-charge field. An error self-compensation mechanism is investigated for use during the deposition of optical coatings with broadband optical monitoring. The correlation of thickness errors caused by monitoring procedure is mathematically described. The linear theory of the interaction between a thin annular beam of gyrating electrons and a traveling electromagnetic wave is developed. This theory is very close in its methodology to the classical small signal theory of O- and M-type devices. We demonstrate numerically and experimentally a chirped mirror with controlled reflectivity and dispersion of up to 1.5 octaves. A complementary pair of such mirrors has a reflectivity of 95% in the wavelength range 400–1200 nm with residual group delay dispersion ripples <100 fs2 in all of this range. A generator of turbulent electron beams in an independent mode and in the mode of amplification of an external single-frequency signal is experimentally investigated. The formation of higher harmonic components in the spectrum of output radiation of the generator is shown experimentally. The phenomenological model of the turbulent electron flow is constructed on the basis of a chain of interacting “electron vortices” described by the modified nonlinear Van-der-Pol differential equations. The modes of independent dynamics and the mode of amplification of an external harmonic signal are considered. The results of numerical modeling and experimental investigations are compared. The qualitative correspondence of the behavior of the dependences obtained from the experimental investigation of the generator of turbulent electron beams and the results obtained from numerical modeling is shown.  相似文献
