Study of the viscoelastoplastic deformation of an element of a body with a three-branch loading path

Synthesis of 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-Octaalkynylphthalocyanines and the Effects of Concentration and Temperature on Their (1)H NMR Spectra

The syntheses of 3,4- and 4,5-diiodophthalonitriles are described. Coupling of the latter compound with Pd(PPh(3))(2)Cl(2) and 1-octyne, 1-heptyne, 1-hexyne, 1-pentyne, and 3,3-dimethyl-1-butyne gave a series of 4,5-dialkynylphthalonitriles. Hydrogenation of 4,5-bis(1-pentynyl)phthalonitrile and 4,5-bis(3,3-dimethyl-1-butynyl)phthalonitrile gave 4,5-dipentylphthalonitrile and 4,5-bis(3,3-dimethylbutyl)phthalonitriles. Condensation of the dialkynylphthalonitriles with lithium 1-pentoxide in 1-pentanol gave 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octaalkynylphthalocyanines, while intervention of the intermediate dilithium phthalocyanines with zinc acetate gave the related zinc(II) phthalocyanines. (1)H NMR spectroscopy of these octaalkynylphthalocyanines exhibited large chemical shifts (1-2 ppm) of the internal and aromatic protons at concentrations ranging from 10(-)(2) to 10(-)(5) M and at temperatures from 27 to 147 degrees C. The effects of aggregation phenomena are discussed. The importance of reporting concentration and temperature values for NMR spectra of phthalocyanines is stressed.     

Specific features of solketal synthesis on KU-2-8 cation-exchange resin

Technological specific features of the solketal synthesis on a KU-2-8 cation-exchange resin were improved. Data are presented on the mutual solubility of the components in the glycerol–acetone–water and glycerol–acetone–water–ethanol systems. It is shown that use of ethanol for homogenization of the starting reagents is more than twice more efficient than performing the process with delivery of an emulsion of the reagents or reaching a full solubility of glycerol in acetone due to the 20-fold excess of the latter at 35°C. It is shown that the delivery of a glycerol emulsion in acetone to an immobile bed of a heterogeneous catalyst working in the falling-film mode leads to flooding of the reactor at spraying densities exceeding 0.15 m³ m^–2 h^–1.

Manifestation of Extracoordination in the Resonance Raman Spectra of Water‐Soluble Cation Co‐Porphyrins

Resonance Raman spectra (RRS) of Co(II) and Co(III)5,10,15,20tetrakis(4Nmethylpyridinium)porphyrin ((Co^II(TmpyP4), and Co^III(TMPyP4)) in aqueous solutions at different pH as well as in organic solvents (methanol, ethanol, DMSO, DMF) are obtained. The increased sensitivity of the oscillation frequencies ₂, ₄, ₈, and ₆ — the markers of the oxidation state of a metal — to the nature of an axial ligand has been revealed. For Co^III(TmpyP4), the shifts of the indicated frequencies in extracoordination have turned out to be twofold larger than those for Co^II(TmpyP4). The spectral effects observed are related to different electron influence of the extraligands on the system of the porphyrin ring. In the case of Co(III)porphyrin, interaction of the d orbitals of the metal and the e _g ^*orbitals of the macrocycle is more efficient since its ionic radius is smaller than for the Co(II)complex. For Co^III(TmpyP4), a linear correlation between the oscillation frequencies ₂, ₄, ₈, and ₆ and the experimental Gutmann parameters characterizing the electronacceptor properties of solvents is found.     

On a game of optimal pursuit of an object by two others

A game problem of the simple pursuit of one object by two others, the former having a speed advantage, is analyzed. The duration of the game is fixed. The payoff functional is the distance between the object being pursued and the pursuer closest to it when the game terminates. Similar problems were examined in /1–7/.     

High-resolution dissociative recombination of cold H3+and first evidence for nuclear spin effects

The energy-resolved rate coefficient for the dissociative recombination (DR) of H(3)(+) with slow electrons has been measured by the storage-ring method using an ion beam produced from a radiofrequency multipole ion trap, employing buffer-gas cooling at 13 K. The electron energy spread of the merged-beams measurement is reduced to 500 microeV by using a cryogenic GaAs photocathode. This and a previous cold- measurement jointly confirm the capability of ion storage rings, with suitable ion sources, to store and investigate H(3)(+) in the two lowest, (J,G) = (1,1) and (1,0) rotational states prevailing also in cold interstellar matter. The use of para-H(2) in the ion source, expected to enhance para-H(3)(+) in the stored ion beam, is found to increase the DR rate coefficient at meV electron energies.
