We present an algorithm which calculates the monopole number of anSU 2-valued lattice gauge field, together with a lattice Higgs field, on a simplicial lattice of dimension ≧3. The calculation is gauge invariant. The expected value of the monopole density (for a fixed Higgs field) does not depend on the Higgs field. In 1979, Papadimitriou and Yannakakis gave a polynomial time algorithm for the scheduling of jobs requiring unit completion times when the precedence constraints form an interval order. The authors solve here the corresponding problem, for preemptive scheduling (a job can be interrupted to work on more important tasks, and completed at a later time, subject to the usual scheduling constraints.) The m-machine preemptive scheduling problem is shown to have a polynomial algorithm, for both unit time and variable execution times as well, when the precedence constraints are given by an interval order.  相似文献

The performance of two external plastic scintillator detectors has been tested in an off-line mode using a source of106RuFe at UNISOR/NOF. The measurement of beta asymmetries at various temperatures has resulted in the reproduction of the previously-determined magnetic dipole moment for the 1+ ground state of106Rh and in addition the conclusion that the sign of this moment is positive.  相似文献

A new type of cyclolinear polymer, poly(phenylene vinylene‐alt‐cyclotriphosphazene), was synthesized through Heck‐type coupling reactions to produce π‐conjugated macromolecules with excellent solubility and precise electronic control of the band‐gap energy. This synthesis method is capable of producing well‐defined alternating polymers. The method is highly adaptable and can be readily used for other chromophore systems. The resulting polymers were also capable of accommodating a wide variety of substituents on the cyclophosphazene rings with minimal effect on the electronic properties. The band gap and electron affinities of the polymer were varied through the manipulation of the π‐conjugated unit located between the insulating phosphazene rings. Each chromophore matched the intended conjugation length consistently throughout the macromolecules. The polymers were good film formers because of the chosen substituents on the phosphazene rings. The absorbance of the polymers indicated minimal spectral shift from the monomer absorbance. This suggested an effective insulation of each chromophore unit from its neighbors by the phosphazene rings. AGL(p,C)-valued lattice gauge fieldu on a simplicial complex determines a principalGL(p,C)-bundle if the plaquette products are sufficiently small with respect to the maximum distortion coefficient of the transporters. A representative cocyclec q for theq th Chern class of can be computed on each 2q-simplex by takingc q() to be the intersection number of a certain singular 2q-cubeM with a Schubert-type variety q in the space of allp×p matrices. This reduces to the solution of polynomial equations with coefficients coming fromu and thus avoids numerical integration or cooling-type procedures.
