Spectrophotometric determination of ketoprofen in pharmaceutical preparations by means of charge transfer complex formation

A spectrophotometric determination of ketoprofen based upon oxime formation followed by charge transfer complexation with o-chloranil has been developed. Different variables affecting the complexation process have been studied. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 10-80 microg/ml. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of ketoprofen in pure form and in pharmaceutical dosage forms in the presence of its impurities.     

Dielectric relaxation of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) stabilized with cyanoguanidine

Dielectric spectra of CPVC stabilized with cyanoguanidine were studied in the temperature range 300–450 K and frequency range 10 kHz to 1 MHz. In these conditions, only one clear dielectric relaxation band (α-type) associated with dipolar polarization was observed. Dielectric losses was found to directly proportional to the number of dipoles (N) which reflects the orientational distribution of polymer chains in the amorphous region, at which dielectric losses concerned. Calculations of the dielectric modulus M′(T) at low temperature indicate that there is a role of the electrode polarization in the relaxation process. Dielectric loss data were used to calculate the activation enthalpy by two different methods, the obtained value was 450 kJ/mol.

Untersuchungen an 3,5-Diaminopyrazol-Derivaten

Zusammenfassung Es wird über das Verhalten von 3,5-Diamino-4-phenylazopyrazol gegenüber verschiedenen Agentien berichtet. Es wurden sowohl einige neue 3,5-Diaminooyrazol-Derivate als auch einige Aminoderivate von kondensierten Pyrazolen dargestellt.

     

Alpha Particle Response of CR-39 Polycarbonated Detector

The alpha particle response which is characteristic of polycarbonate detectors CR-39 has been investigated. The track diameter as a function of alpha energy in the range from 5.1–22.2 MeV was examined. The mean track diameter or size of the tracks are found to be energy dependent which decreases as alpha energy increases with a trend at about 14 MeV alpha energy. With regard to the spectroscopy of alpha from track radii, it was stated that the discrimination of lower alpha energies shows better results than the high energies for the present etching condition.

Es wurde die charakteristische Wirkung von Alpha-Teilchen auf die Polycarbonatdetektoren CR-39 untersucht. Der Spurendurchmesser als Funktion der Alpha-Energie wurde im Energiebereich 5,1… 22,2 MeV verfolgt. Der mittlere Spurendurchmesser oder die Spurengroβe waren energieabhängig und nahmen mit zunehmender Alpha-Energie bei einem Trend von ungefähr 14 Me V ab. In being auf die Spektroskopie von Alpha-Teilchen von den Spurenradien wurde festgestellt, daβeine Unterscheidung von niederen Alpha-Energien bessere Ergebnisse brachte als solche bei hohen Energien für die vorliegende Ätzbedingung.

II. “Spectroscopic Investigation of Charge Transfer Complexes of Osazone Intermediates Prepared From certain monosaccharides”

Monosaccharide osazones are utilized in the spectrophotometric determination of their parent compounds through charge transfer complexes (CTC) formation with three-electron acceptor reagents. These acceptors indlude iodine (as -π-acceptor) and chloranil (tetrachloro P-benzoquinone) & TCNE (tetracyano ethylene) as π-acceptors. The presence of two phenylhydrazone moieties in the osazone molecule imparts electron-donating properties toward electron-accepting reagents, yielding spectrophotometrically measurable complexes. However, the reaction of osazone intermediates with TCNE reagent gave tricyanovinyl derivative rather than CTC formation. The above complexes together with their corresponding intermediates were subjected to structure elucidation studies to confirm the results and conclusions obtained. These studies include IR, Raman spectra, H¹, C¹³-NMR, MS, ESR (electron spin resonance spectra) and microanalysis.
