Microwave-assisted Sinthesis of Thymyl Ethers and Esters in Aqueous Medium

Various thymyl ethers and esters have been synthesized by reactions of thymol with alkyl halides and acid chlorides, respectively, in aqueous medium under environmentally benign conditions using micro-wave irradiation. The products are important as potent pest managing agents.     

Fly‐Ash‐Supported Synthesis of 2‐Mercaptobenzothiazole Derivatives under Microwave Irradiation

Microwave‐assisted, solvent‐free alkylation and acylation of 2‐mercaptobenzothiazole has been attempted using silica gel, alumina, and a new solid support, fly ash. Fly ash, a waste generated at thermal power stations, could be used as solid support just as efficiently as commercial supports. The additional features of methodology include a much faster reaction, easy workup, higher yields, higher purity of the products, and an ecofriendly approach.     

Infrared Divergences in Light Front Field Theory and Coherent State Formalism

We discuss fermion self energy correction in light front QED using a coherent state basis. We show that if one uses coherent state basis instead of fock basis to calculate the transition matrix elements the true infrared divergences in δ m ² get canceled up to O(e ⁴). We show this in Light-front as well as in Feynman gauge.     

A convergent approach towards the synthesis of the 2-alkyl-substituted tetrahydroquinoline alkaloid (−)-cuspareine

A convergent approach towards the synthesis of the 2-alkyl-substituted tetrahydroquinoline alkaloid (?)-cuspareine via enantiospecific construction of the (R)-benzyl 2-formyl-3,4-dihydroquinoline-1(2H)-carboxylate. We have achieved an efficient enantiospecific synthesis of (?)-cuspareine starting from known key starting materials. The reactions employed for individual transformations are simple and high yielding, and the strategy could potentially be easily extended.     

Synthesis,ABTS-Radical Scavenging Activity,and Antiproliferative and Molecular Docking Studies of Novel Pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoline Derivatives

A new 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS)-radical scavenging and antiproliferative agents of pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoline derivatives have been synthesized. An efficient method for the synthesis of 14 novel diversified pyrrolo[1,2-a]quinoline derivatives has been described using 4-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)quinoline and different phenacyl bromides in acetone and followed by reacting with different acetylenes in dimethylformamide/K₂CO₃. The structure of the newly synthesized compounds was determined by infrared, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The in vitro antioxidant activity revealed that among all the tested compounds 5n exhibited maximum scavenging activity with ABTS. Compound 5b has showed good antiproliferative activity as an inhibitor of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase.     

Room temperature thermoelectric performance of Methyl Ammonium Lead Iodide Perovskite and their MWCNT-PANI composites

The excellent properties of Methyl Ammonium Lead Iodide (MAPI) have already created an extensive research interest in photovoltaic applications. However, their utility in thermoelectric application is still not realized thoroughly by researchers. By continuing this interest, we have explored the formation of low dimensional CH₃NH₃PbI₃ (MAPI) perovskite in presence of Polyaniline (PANI) and Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) and its thermoelectric performance. For this purpose, a two stage, in-situ synthesis method was developed to prepare various composites such as MAPI-PANI, MWCNT-MAPI and MWCNT-PANI-MAPI. The as-formed MWCNT-PANI-MAPI composite revealed p-type conductivity with enhanced ZT (up to ~20,000 times) and power factor (3000 times) at room temperature as compared to pristine MAPI sample. Finally, we have demonstrated a proto-type thermoelectric power generator (TE device) fabricated using the best performing composite sample and measured its power output and efficiency at varied δT.
