Complex studies of the magnetic, magnetoelectric, and magnetoelastic properties of GdMn2O5 single crystals in strong pulsed magnetic fields are carried out in order to obtain additional indirect information on the character of the rare-earth and manganese spin ordering. It is shown that magnetic ordering of Gd3+ spins affects the manganese sublattice spin orientation and initiates new magnetic phase transitions. The observed magnetoelectric properties of the GdMn2O5 system are interpreted in terms of the theory of phase transitions.  相似文献

The effect of uniform pressure on the character of metal-dielectric transitions in compensated weakly- and highly doped semiconductors (WHDCS) is considered. The influence of hybridization of resonance quasilocalized impurity states with band continuum states on the transition is shown. Minimum metallic conductivities in p-CdSnAs2 are determined for Mott and Anderson transitions. Special features of the metal-dielectric transformation in weakly-doped narrow- and high energy-gap semiconductors are discussed for the case of hydrogen-like impurities. Anderson localization in WHDCS is also considered. Phase diagrams are presented.  相似文献

By studying the magnetic and magnetoelastic properties, it is established that, as the temperature is lowered, Sm1?xSrxMnO3 single crystals (x=0.5, 0.55) undergo spontaneous phase transitions from the paramagnetic to a local charge-ordered state at Tco=220 K and to an A-type antiferromagnetic state at TN=175 K. It is shown that strong magnetic fields (Hcr ~ 200 kOe) break up the antiferromagnetic order and charge ordering and drive a phase transition to a conducting ferromagnetic state. H-T phase diagrams are constructed for single crystals with x=0.5 and 0.55.  相似文献

The voltage-current characteristics (VCC) of Sm1?xSrx MnO3 samples with x=0.425 and x=0.450 were experimentally studied at a temperature of 77 K in pulsed and constant electric (E) and magnetic (H) fields up to 10 kOe for the HE and HE orientations. N-shaped VCCs and high-frequency (up to 3 MHz) current oscillations were observed. It was found that the effect of colossal magnetoresistance had a threshold character and was smoothly reduced to zero with E→0.  相似文献

We have measured the resistivity, magnetoresistance, and thermopower of ceramic manganite samples La1 ? x Ag y MnO3 (yx) doped with silver as functions of temperature (4.2–350 K) and magnetic field (up to 26 kOe). A metal-insulator phase transition is observed in all investigated samples at temperatures close to room temperature. The behavior of the resistivity and thermopower in the high-temperature paramagnetic region is interpreted using the concept of small radius polaron; the activation energy decreases with increasing doping level. The resistivity in the low-temperature ferromagnetic region is approximated by the expression ρFM(T) = ρ0 + AT 2 + BT 4.5 presuming the existence of electron-electron and electron-magnon interactions. A resistivity minimum and a strong magnetoresistive effect are observed at low temperatures. The latter effect is associated with scattering of charge carriers at grain boundaries, which are antiferromagnetically ordered relative to one another. The temperature dependence of thermopower in the magnetically ordered phase is described in the framework of a model taking into account the drag of charge carriers by magnons.  相似文献

The structure of phytic acid and of cobalt and iron phytates and pharmacopoeial phytin have been studied by diffuse reflection electron spectroscopy and IR spectroscopy. The nature of the relaxation of the incommensurate superstructure of a ferroelectric to the equilibrium state is investigated experimentally. It is shown that near a phase transition the temperature dependence of the relaxation time of the incommensurate phase of the defective crystal is exponential. This law agrees qualitatively with the notion of domain wall motion in an inhomogeneous medium containing “random local phase-transition temperature” type defects. Fiz. Tverd.
