The electrical transport properties of thin metal films containing ionized impurities

Summary Analytical expressions for the electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power are calculated for thin metal films containing ionized impurities that affect the value and the energy dependence of the electron relaxation time. The electrical conductivity decreases, whereas the thermoelectric power increases on addition of such impurities. For pure lattice scattering there is no size effect in the thermoelectric power.
