Electrophysical and Thermal Parameters of Thermal Plasma in a High-Frequency Induction Discharge

A semiempirical model is proposed for the calculation of electrical, magnetic and thermal parameters of the plasma of a high-frequency induction discharge. The model is based on solving a system of two-dimensional Maxwell equations written for a cylindrical coordinate system.     

Investigation of clustering in light nuclei by means of relativistic-multifragmentation processes

New results concerning the topology of the fragmentation of relativistic nuclei ⁷Li and ¹⁰B are presented. A program is proposed for studying the cluster structure of stable and radioactive nuclei. The use of emulsions in the investigation of nuclear clustering in the fragmentation of light nuclei at energies are in excess of 1 GeV per nucleon is discussed.     

Global Analysis of the Flows of Fluids with Pressure-Dependent Viscosities

 To describe the flows of fluids over a wide range of pressures, it is necessary to take into account the fact that the viscosity of the fluid depends on the pressure. That the viscosity depends on the pressure has been verified by numerous careful experiments. While the existence of solutions local-in-time to the equations governing the flows of such fluids are available for small, special data and rather unrealistic dependence of the viscosity on the pressure, no global existence results are in place. Our interest here is to establish the existence of weak solutions for spatially periodic three-dimensional flows that are global in time, for a large class of physically meaningful viscosity-pressure relationships. Evolution of dynamic spiral domains over a period of an alternating magnetic field

The stroboscopic method was applied to study the evolution of dynamic spiral domains in garnet ferrite films in an ac magnetic field. The spiral-domain shape was shown to change significantly within a field period; the basic shape transformations take place in the phase range ?π/4 to +π/4 with respect to the polarity inversion time. During the spiral-domain formation or decay, the area and shape of a hysteresis loop of the film region containing the domain gradually change. The upper boundary of the frequency range in which spiral domains form was established to be associated with transformations of the domain wall structure.     

Resonant response of a thermalized ensemble of nonlinear oscillators

The analysis is carried out of the response of the center of gravity (dipole moment) of the distribution of noninteracting thermalized nonlinear oscillators to a sinusoidal driving force. Heat bath coupling is modeled by damping and noise. The driving is weak, but the frequency is resonant, so that there is a nonlinear resonance in the phase space. The response has a linear part that can be obtained from the perturbation analysis and a small nonlinear correction that is specific for the resonant structure.     

Cyclization of acetylenylpyrazolecarboxylic acids

Conclusions Acetylenyl-N-methylpyrazolecarboxylic acids containing an acetylenic substituent and a carboxyl group on adjacent carbon atoms cyclize in pyridine in the presence of copper phenylacetylenide to pyranopyrazoles.
