Using combinations of p-tert-butylthiacalix[4]arene (TCA) and [M(DMSO)(6)(BF(4))(2)] salts (M = Co(II) or Ni(II)), two almost isostructural core-shell-type thermally stable giant nanoclusters, composed of 32 metal centers, 6 deprotonated calix units binding the metal centers by both their O and S atoms, 24 μ-oxo or μ-hydroxo bridging groups, and 6 MeOH molecules, have been prepared under mild and reproducible conditions. For both giant clusters, the oxidation state II [M(II)(32)O(16)(OH)(8)(CH(3)OH)(6)TCA(6) (M = Co or Ni)] for the metal center was demonstrated by X-ray photoelectron and electronic absorption spectroscopies.  相似文献

Al-substituted hydroxysulphate green rust (Al-GR{SO4}) were synthesised by the coprecipitation of FeII, FeIII and AlIII cations. The Al-GR{SO4} crystals (~50 nm) are significantly smaller than the hydroxysulphate green rust GR{SO4} crystals (~500 nm). The Mössbauer spectrum of Al-GR{SO4} was adjusted with two ferrous doublets D1 and D3 and one ferric doublet D2. Doublet D3 is attributed to FeII ions that have AlIII ions as a first neighbour.

This article is dedicated to the study of the thermal parameters of composite materials. A nonlinear least‐squares criterion is used on experimental transfer functions to identify the thermal conductivity and the diffusivity of aluminum‐polymer composite materials. The density measurements were achieved to deduce the specific heat and thereafter they were compared to values given by differential scanning calorimetry measurement. The thermal parameters of the composite material polypropylene/aluminum were investigated for the two different types of aluminum filler sizes. The experimental data were compared with several theoretical thermal conductivity prediction models. It was found that both the Agari and Bruggeman models provide a good estimation for thermal conductivity. The experimental values of both thermal conductivity and diffusivity have shown a better heat transport for the composite filled with large particles. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We present experimental and theoretical results on the electrorheological response and microstructure of colloidal suspensions composed of silica nanoparticles dispersed in a silicon oil, as a function of electric field strength and silica water content. Using small-angle neutrons scattering experiments, we determined the evolution of the static structure factor of the suspensions when an electric field is applied. Experimental data were fitted with model calculations using the Percus-Yevick solution for Baxter's hard-sphere adhesive potential. The obtained stickiness parameter is directly related to the polarization interactions that depend on the water content of silica particles. The influence of the polarization interparticle potential on the rheology of the silica dispersions was investigated in a second time. A microscopic theory for the shear viscosity of adhesive hard-sphere suspensions was successfully used which describes the steady shear viscosity of suspension in terms of the fractal concept.  相似文献
