Two Optically Active Luteochromes: Preparation, Spectra and Chiroptical and Chromatographic Properties Selective rearrangement of (5R,6S,5′ R,6′S)-5,6:5′, 6′ -diepoxy-5,6,5′, 6′ -tetrahydro- β,β -carotene with the aid ofan ethereal solution of malonic acid leads to the mixture of the C(8′)-epimeric luteochromes. HPLC separation gave the pure isomers. This is the first report on th preparation of optically active luteochromes.  相似文献

Summary The selectivity of a new magnesium ionophore (ETH 7025) induced in membranes of different compositions is experimentally studied in view of the ion activities in human serum. The required selectivity coefficient against calcium for the application of an ion-selective magnesium electrode to human serum is calculated for the worst case. Other critical parameters for the application of a liquid PVC-based ion-selective membrane to undiluted human serum discussed are: the sensor lifetime which is related to the lipophilicity of the carrier as well as the ruggedness of the membrane against interactions with components of the relatively lipophilic sample.  相似文献

The initial stages of the heterogeneous photoreduction of quinone species by self-assembled porphyrin ion pairs at the water|1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) interface have been studied by ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy and dynamic photoelectrochemical measurements. Photoexcitation of the water-soluble ion pair formed by zinc meso-tetrakis(p-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin (ZnTPPS(4)(-)) and zinc meso-tetrakis(N-methylpyridyl)porphyrin (ZnTMPyP(4+)) leads to a charge-separated state of the form ZnTPPS(3)(-)-ZnTMPyP(3+) within 40 ps. This charge-separated state is involved in the heterogeneous electron injection to acceptors in the organic phase in the microsecond time scale. The heterogeneous electron transfer manifests itself as photocurrent responses under potentiostatic conditions. In the case of electron acceptors such as 1,4-benzoquinone (BQ), 2,6-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone (DCBQ), and tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (TCBQ), the photocurrent responses exhibit a strong decay due to back electron transfer to the oxidized porphyrin ion pair. Interfacial protonation of the radical semiquinone also contributes to the photocurrent relaxation in the millisecond time scale. The photocurrent responses are modeled by a series of linear elementary steps, allowing estimations of the flux of heterogeneous electron injection to the acceptor species. The rate of electron transfer was studied as a function of the thermodynamic driving force, confirming that the activation energy is controlled by the solvent reorganization energy. This analysis also suggests that the effective redox potential of BQ at the liquid|liquid boundary is shifted by 0.6 V toward positive potentials with respect to the value in bulk DCE. The change of the redox potential of BQ is associated with the formation of hydrogen bonds at the liquid|liquid boundary. The relevance of this approach toward modeling the initial processes in natural photosynthetic reaction centers is briefly discussed.  相似文献

Preparation of the First Spiro[(methylcyclopropan)-phenanthrene]-1,3-dione Derivatives by 1,6-Elimination Reactions of Spirocoleons Spirocoleons, e.g. coleon J ( 1 ), on treatment with 1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene (DBN) in aprotic solvents, undergo enolization followed by a rapid 1,6-elimination with formation of the hitherto unknown 2-methyl-spiro[cyclopropane-1,2′(1′H)-phenanthrene]-1′,3′(4′bH)-dione system, e.g. 3 . In protic solvents, base-catalyzed solvolysis of the spirocyclopropane predominates.  相似文献

Endolysins are bacteriophage-encoded peptidoglycan hydrolases targeting the cell wall of host bacteria via their cell wall-binding domains (CBDs). The molecular basis for selective recognition of surface carbohydrate ligands by CBDs remains elusive. Here, we describe, in atomic detail, the interaction between the Listeria phage endolysin domain CBD500 and its cell wall teichoic acid (WTA) ligands. We show that 3′O-acetylated GlcNAc residues integrated into the WTA polymer chain are the key epitope recognized by a CBD binding cavity located at the interface of tandem copies of beta-barrel, pseudo-symmetric SH3b-like repeats. This cavity consists of multiple aromatic residues making extensive interactions with two GlcNAc acetyl groups via hydrogen bonds and van der Waals contacts, while permitting the docking of the diastereomorphic ligands. Our multidisciplinary approach tackled an extremely challenging protein–glycopolymer complex and delineated a previously unknown recognition mechanism by which a phage endolysin specifically recognizes and targets WTA, suggesting an adaptable model for regulation of endolysin specificity.

Combining genetic, biochemical and computational approaches, we elucidated the molecular mechanisms underlying the recognition of Listeria wall teichoic acid by bacteriophage-encoded SH3b repeats.  相似文献

Isolation of (?)-dunnione from the leaves of Calceolaria integrifolia, MURR . (fam. Scrophulariaceae) From the leaves of Calceolaria integrifolia, a plant often used in horticulture. partially racemic (?)-dunnione (1) has been isolated. Isolation and Structure Elucidation of Pteridines (Lumazines) from Russula sp. (Basidiomycetes) Extensive chromatogaphic separations and spectroscopic investigations have led to the isolation and identification of several water-soluble pteridines from Russula sp., the so-called russupteridines, namely: 1-(5-amino-2-6-dioxo-1,2,3,6-tetrahydeopyrimidin-4-yl)amino-1-deoxy-D -ribitol ( 1 ; a pro-lumazine; first identification in a basidiomycete(; l-deoxy-l-(6-methyl-2-4,7-trioxo-1,2,3,4,7,8-hexahydro-pteridin-8-yl)-D -ribitol ( 3 ) and l-deoxy-1-(2,4,7-trioxo-1,2,3,4,7,8-hexahydeopteridin-8-yl)-D -ribitol ( 4 ); both compounds found for the first time in higher fungi; they belong to the components with the strongest violet-blue fluorescence in Russula sp.; riboflavine ( 6 ; now recognized as an important yellow colorant in a great many of Russula sp.); russupteridine-yellow I (= l-(6-amino-7-(N-fromylimino)-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4,7,8-hexahydropteridin-8-yl)-1-deoxy-D -ribitol; 5 ; a component with very strong fluorescence; the first derivative of the novel 6,7-diamino-lamazine); russupteridine-yellow IV (= l-deoxy-1-)(2,6,8-trioxo-2,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-1H-imidazolo[4,5-g]pteridin-4-yl)-D -ribitol (7)). Two further yellow russupteridines (yellow II and Yellow V) with very strong fluorescence have been isolated and characterized.  相似文献

Reinvestigation of the Carotenoids from Rosa foetida, structures of 12 Novel Carotenoids; Stereoisomeric Luteoxanthins, Auroxanthins, Latoxanthins and Latochromes From petals of the yellow Rosa foetida HERRM ., more than 35 individual carotenoids were isolated and identified. Thereof, 87% belong to the expoxycarotenes. Structures were assigned for the first time to 4 auroxanthins ((8R,8′S), 6 ; (8S,8′S), 7 ; (8R,8′R), 8 ; (9Z,8R,8′R), 12 ), to 4 luteoxanthins ((8′R), 4 ; (8′S), 5 ; (9Z,8′R), 9 ; (9Z,8′S) 10(e) ) and to novel latoxanthins and latochromes, very polar carotenoids having (3S,5R,6R)-trihydroxy β-end groups (latoxanthins 13 and 16 , latochromes 14 and 15 ).  相似文献
