A recent highlight in the study of high-T(c) superconductors is the observation of band renormalization or self-energy effects on the quasiparticles. This is seen in the form of kinks in the quasiparticle dispersions as measured by photoemission and interpreted as signatures of collective bosonic modes coupling to the electrons. Here we compare for the first time the self-energies in an optimally doped and strongly overdoped, nonsuperconducting single-layer Bi-cuprate (Bi2Sr2CuO6). In addition to the appearance of a strong overall weakening, we also find that the weight of the self-energy in the overdoped system shifts to higher energies. We present evidence that this is related to a change in the coupling to c-axis phonons due to the rapid change of the c-axis screening in this doping range.  相似文献

The charge dynamics in weakly hole doped high temperature superconductors is studied in terms of the accurate numerical solution to a model of a single hole interacting with a quantum lattice in an antiferromagnetic background, and accurate far-infrared ellipsometry measurements. The experimentally observed two electronic bands in the infrared spectrum can be identified in terms of the interplay between the electron correlation and electron-phonon interaction resolving the long standing mystery of the midinfrared band.  相似文献

We review recent work on the theory for pump/probe photoemission spectroscopy of electron‐phonon mediated superconductors in both the normal and the superconducting states. We describe the formal developments that allow one to solve the Migdal‐Eliashberg theory in nonequilibrium for an ultrashort laser pumping field, and explore the solutions which illustrate the relaxation as energy is transferred from electrons to phonons. We focus on exact results emanating from sum rules and approximate numerical results which describe rules of thumb for relaxation processes. In addition, in the superconducting state, we describe how Anderson‐Higgs oscillations can be excited due to the nonlinear coupling with the electric field and describe mechanisms where pumping the system enhances superconductivity.  相似文献

Modifications to a Paul-type quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer providing optical access to the trapped ion cloud as well as hardware and software for coupling to a table-top IR optical parametric oscillator laser (OPO) are detailed. Critical experimental parameters for infrared multiple photon dissociation (IRMPD) on this instrument are characterized. IRMPD action spectra, collected in the hydrogen-stretching region with this instrument, complemented by spectra in the IR fingerprint region acquired at the FELIX facility, are employed to characterize the structures of the protonated forms of 2-thiouridine, [s2Urd+H]+, and 4-thiouridine, [s4Urd+H]+. The measured spectra are compared with predicted linear IR spectra calculated at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) level of theory to determine the conformers populated in the experiments. This comparison indicates that thiation at the 2- or 4-positions shifts the protonation preference between the 2,4-H tautomer and 4-protonation in opposite directions versus canonical uridine, which displays a roughly equal preference for the 2,4-H tautomer and O4 protonation. As found for canonical uridine, protonation leads to a mixture of conformers exhibiting C2′-endo and C3′-endo sugar puckering with an anti nucleobase orientation being populated for both 2- and 4-thiated uridine.

We calculate the inelastic light scattering from x rays, which allows the photon to transfer both energy and momentum to the strongly correlated charge excitations. We find that the charge-transfer peak and the low-energy peak both broaden and disperse through the Brillouin zone similar to what is seen in experiments in materials such as Ca2CuO2Cl2.  相似文献
