Iodomethyl-, chloromethyl-, and fluoromethyldimethylsulfonium salts, 4b-d, have been synthesized and are observed to be highly reactive molecules that exhibit extraordinary diversity with respect to the nature of their reactivity, undergoing facile direct substitution (S(N)2) reactions, but also being highly susceptible to electron-transfer reactions. Cyclic voltametry experiments indicated that the iodomethyldimethylsulfonium compound, 4b, is a potent electron acceptor, even surpassing the reactivity of perfluoro-n-alkyl iodides in that capacity. The iodo- and chloromethyldimethylsulfonium salts, 4b,c, as well as the analogous iodomethyltrimethylammonium salt, 3a, are shown to be reactive SET acceptors.  相似文献

A data-processing technique is proposed for use with conventional frequency-chirped absorption spectroscopy to ensure accurate mapping of spectral features into time-domain signatures with arbitrarily fast readout chirp rates. This technique recovers the spectrum from a signal that is distorted owing to the fast chirp rate and therefore facilitates fast measurement of the spectral features over a broad spectral range with high resolution. Both numerical simulations and experimental results are presented.  相似文献

We present experimental results for what is to our knowledge the first spectral-hole-burning based rf spectrum analyzer to cover 10 GHz of rf analysis bandwidth. The rf signal of interest is modulated onto an optical carrier, and the resultant optical sidebands are burned into the inhomogeneously broadened absorption band of a Tm3+:YAG crystal. At the same time a second, frequency-swept laser reads out the absorption profile, which is a double-sideband replica of the rf spectrum, and thus the rf spectrum can be deduced after spectral calibration of the nonlinear readout chirp. This initial demonstration shows spectral analysis covering 10 GHz of bandwidth with >5500 spectral channels and provides 43 dB of dynamic range.  相似文献

Highly efficient two-pulse and stimulated photon echoes are experimentally demonstrated in an absorbing medium. Recall efficiencies of 235% and 150% with excellent signal contrast are measured for two-pulse and stimulated photon echoes, respectively, in a Tm:YAG crystal with an absorption length of 3.8. The reported efficiencies do not include any correction for decay or beam profile. We believe that this is the first demonstration of an uncorrected echo efficiency greater than 100% with good signal fidelity in an optically thick medium.  相似文献

A complex spectral grating is accumulated by repeated application of a pair of low-power optical programming pulses to a short-term persistent inhomogeneously broadened transition in Tm:YAG at 4.5 K and then probed to investigate the buildup dynamics. The necessary frequency stability is obtained by locking a cw Ti:sapphire laser to a regenerating transient spectral hole in the same transition. Grating accumulation is demonstrated for both a periodic spectral grating, representing a true-time delay, and a complex spectral grating, permitting correlation-based pattern recognition. This work is a step toward demonstrating an optical coherent transient continuously programmed continuous processor.  相似文献

This paper describes the theoretical and experimental results of a novel leaky-wave antenna incorporating a homogeneous dielectric transmission line and radiating aperture into a single structure. The primary objective of this investigation is to demonstrate the ability to control aperture radiation by simply cutting slots into a metal-free dielectric transmission line. Experimental line source antennas with identical periodic slots were designed to operate in the 35 GHz frequency region. The successful performance of these antennas resulted in the design of a dielectric line source antenna with a symmetrical amplitude taper which provided a lower sidelobe level. The design represents a significant breakthrough in achieving affordable, low-loss, lightweight antennas in the millimeter wave region. The most significant applications for this type of antenna include radar surveillance and tactical missile-seeker terminal guidance.  相似文献

Smart pixels with smart illumination is a new concept in sensor array technology based on structured built-in illumination and optoelectronic feedback. It offers many new possibilities and potential advantages over more-traditional sensor arrays. We discuss an edge-detection system as an example of how smart illumination can advantageously be used to achieve a variety of functions. We also present initial experimental results from a fabricated chip based on this concept. The chip includes an integrated array of photodetectors and LED's. The output of each pixel can be controlled based on the feedback received by its dual detectors.  相似文献

Reaction of vinyl and isopropenyl Grignard reagents with quinazoline results in addition to the 3,4-imine bond to give the 4-alkenyldihydroquinazolines 4 which are conveniently aromatized with potassium ferri-cyanide to the 4-alkenylquinazolines 5. Quinazolines 5 undergo addition with thiols under neutral conditions to afford the quinazolinylethyl sulfides 2 in moderate yields.  相似文献
