An innovative volatolomic approach employs the detection of biomarkers present in cerumen (earwax) to identify cattle intoxication by Stryphnodendron rotundifolium Mart., Fabaceae (popularly known as barbatimão). S. rotundifolium is a poisonous plant with the toxic compound undefined and widely distributed throughout the Brazilian territory. Cerumen samples from cattle of two local Brazilian breeds (‘Curraleiro Pé-Duro’ and ‘Pantaneiro’) were collected during an experimental intoxication protocol and analyzed using headspace (HS)/GC–MS followed by multivariate analysis (genetic algorithm for a partial least squares, cluster analysis, and classification and regression trees). A total of 106 volatile organic metabolites were identified in the cerumen samples of bovines. The intoxication by S. rotundifolium influenced the cerumen volatolomic profile of the bovines throughout the intoxication protocol. In this way, it was possible to detect biomarkers for cattle intoxication. Among the biomarkers, 2-octyldecanol and 9-tetradecen-1-ol were able to discriminate all samples between intoxicated and nonintoxicated bovines. The cattle intoxication diagnosis by S. rotundifolium was accomplished by applying the cerumen analysis using HS/GC–MS, in an easy, accurate, and noninvasive way. Thus, the proposed bioanalytical chromatography protocol is a useful tool in veterinary applications to determine this kind of intoxication.  相似文献

A new HPLC method with fluorescence detection using pyridinium hydrobromide perbromide as a post-column derivatising agent has been developed to determine aflatoxin M1 in milk and cheese. The detection limits were 1 ng/kg for milk and 5 ng/kg for cheese. The calibration curve was linear from 0.001 to 0.1 ng injected. The method includes a preliminary C18-SPE clean-up and the average recoveries of Aflatoxin M1 from milk and cheese, spiked at levels of 25-75 ng/kg and 100-300 ng/kg, respectively, were 90 and 76%; the precision (RSDr) ranged from 1.7 to 2.6% for milk and from 3.5 to 6.5% for cheese. The method is rapid, easily automatable and therefore useful for accurate and precise screening of aflatoxin M1 in milk and cheese.  相似文献

Our purpose was to evaluate the role of MRI in distinguishing fibrous from active residual masses in treated Hodgkin's disease. Forty patients with residual mediastinal mass larger than 1.5 cm underwent MRI 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after the end of cycles of prescribed chemotherapy or combined chemoradiotherapy. The MRI examinations were performed on a 0.5 and a 1.5 T systems, using T(1) before and after gadolinium injection and T(2)-weighted sequences. Each time the residual mass was evaluated in size and signal intensity on spin echo (SE) T(2)-weighted images and on SE T(1)-weighted images after contrast medium. Low signal intensity and low contrast enhancement were considered signs of inactive residues; homogeneous high signal intensity and high contrast enhancement were indicative of active residual disease; heterogeneous signal intensity and heterogeneous contrast enhancement were indicative of partial remission or necrotic/inflammatory phenomena. MR showed high diagnostic accuracy in the evaluation of Hodgkin's mediastinal residues after treatment, if performed at least 6 months after the end of therapy, reaching the highest sensitivity and specificity values at 12 month follow-up (considering the three parameters-T(2) signal intensity, contrast-enhancement, and size-all together). If we consider the single parameters individually, we can observe that size variation remains the more valuable parameter to predict or to exclude a relapse. MR diagnostic accuracy at the 6-month follow-up was lower due to the higher incidence of inhomogeneous pattern. The accuracy of MR performed at 1 and at 3 months after the end of therapy was not satisfying. This represents a clinical problem because the most important clinical decisions have to be taken just in this early post-treatment phase.  相似文献

In this work we propose the use of a targeting method applied to chaotic systems in order to reach special trajectories that encode arbitrary sources of messages. One advantage of this procedure is to overcome dynamical constraints which impose limits in the amount of information that the chaotic trajectories can encode. Another advantage is the message decoding, practically instantaneous and independent of any special technique or algorithm. Furthermore, with this procedure, information can be transmitted with no errors due to bounded noise.  相似文献

In this article we study certain ultradiffusion equations connected with energy landscapes of exponential type. These equations are connected with the \(p\)-adic models of complex systems introduced by Avetisov et al. We show that the fundamental solutions of these equations are transition density functions of Lévy processes with state space \(\mathbb{Q}_{p}^{n}\), we also study some aspects of these processes including the first passage time problem.  相似文献

The synthesis via copper(I)‐catalyzed azide alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) of three new monomer derivatives of N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (VP) carrying cyclic pyrrolidine, piperidine, and piperazine groups and the corresponding copolymers with unmodified VP is shown. The systems bearing pyrrolidine and piperidine displayed both thermo‐ and pH‐response, which has not been reported previously for a polymer with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) backbone. A broad modulation of the LCST with the copolymer composition and pH was observed in a temperature range 0–100 °C. Factorial design and principal component analyses are applied to CH3F infrared frequencies and intensities calculated from ab initio wave functions. In the factorial analysis, the quantitative effects of changing from a 6–31G to a 6–311G basis, of including polarization and diffuse orbitals, and of correcting for electron correlation using the second-order Møller-Plesset procedure are determined for all frequencies and intensities. The most significant main effect observed for the frequencies corresponds to the shift from Hartree-Fock to MP2 calculations, which tends to lower all frequency values by approximately 100 cm−1. For the intensities, the main effects are larger for the CF stretching and the CH3 asymmetric stretching modes. Interaction effects between two or more of the four factors are found to be of minor importance, except for the interaction between correlation and polarization. The principal component analysis indicates that wave functions with polarization and diffuse orbitals at the second-order Møller-Plesset level provide the best estimates for the harmonic frequencies, but not for the intensities. For the frequencies, the first principal component distinguishes between MP2 and Hartree-Fock calculations, while the second component separates the wave functions with polarization orbitals from those without these orbitals. For the intensities, the separation is similar but less well defined. This analysis also shows that wave function optimization to calculate accurate intensities is more difficult than an optimization for frequencies. © 1996 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
