A group of machines for processing a set of jobs in a manufacturing system is often located in a serial line. An efficient strategy for locating these machines such that the total travel distance or the cost of transporting the jobs is minimized is desired. In this research, the assumption of a linear line with equally spaced machine location is relaxed. This research addressed problems of locating unique machines. It is found that the machine distances possess unique properties in this type of a problem. Utilizing these properties, heuristic strategies are proposed to obtain efficient solution where optimal methods are expected to be computationally prohibitive. A lower bound for the optimum solution is also proposed. Results are encouraging. 相似文献

Photon induced modifications in Triafol-TN and Triafol-BN polymers have been studied in the dose range of 101–106 Gy at room temperature using a 60Co source. To monitor the chemical and structural changes induced by gamma rays, UV, IR, and ESR studies were carried out. Thermal studies were also conducted for understanding the effects of gamma irradiations on these polymers. Submillimeter laser-Stark spectra have been observed for the isotopic species of methyl fluoride,13CH3F, using the 337 m line of the HCN laser. We have identified the multiplet transitions as JK=18K17K in the ground vibrational state. Ten distinct families with K=8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 have been observed. Zero-field frequencies for all the transitions are given and in most cases with better accuracy than predicted from the previous constants. 相似文献

A submillimeter laser Stark spectrum has been observed for fully deuterated Methyl Chloride (CD3Cl) with the 337 m line of the HCN laser up to Stark fields of about 54000 V/cm. The spectra were taken for both Parallel and Perpendicular Polarizations and the multiplet transitions were identified as JK=42K41K in the ground vibrational state. Three families with K=12, 13 and 14 have been identified and their zero field frequencies have been given with improved accuracy over those calculated from available molecular constants. 相似文献

The oleoresin of Pistacia atlantica var. mutica, growing in different regions of Iran, is a popular naturally occurring chewing gum and has been used traditionally in the treatment of peptic ulcer. The GC-MS analysis of the essential oil, obtained from steam distillation of the oleoresin of P. Atlantica var. mutica, has led to the identification and quantification of eleven terpenoids, -pinene (70%), -pinene (1.94%), 3-carene (0.2%), carveol (2.18%), epoxypinene (2.15%), limonene oxide (9%), myrtenol (5.31%), limonene (0.62%), citral (5.72%), -phellandrene (0.2%), and -myrcene (0.3%). The total amount of essential oil obtained was 22% v/w which is higher than any other species of the genus Pestacia. 相似文献

Hydration of short-chain poly(oxyethylene)s, CH(3)(OCH(2)CH(2))(m)OCH(3) (abbreviated as C(1)E(m)()C(1)) (m = 1-3), in carbon tetrachloride has been studied by infrared spectroscopy. The O-H stretching vibrations of water in ternary solutions with H(2)O:C(1)E(m)C(1):CCl(4) mole ratios of 0.000418:0.005:0.995 to 0.000403:0.04:0.96 were analyzed. Two types of hydrogen bonds are formed in the interaction between water and C(1)E(m)C(1) in carbon tetrachloride; one is a monodentate hydrogen bond, in which only one of the O-H bonds of a water molecule participates in hydrogen bonding, and the other is a bidentate hydrogen bond, in which both of the O-H bonds of a water molecule participate in hydrogen bonding by bridging oxygen atoms separated by two or more monomer units on the polymer chain. An important finding is that the bidentate hydrogen-bond bridge is not formed between the nearest-neighbor oxygen atoms. This experimental observation supports the results of previous molecular dynamics simulations. The shortest oligomer of poly(oxyethylene), i.e., CH(3)OCH(2)CH(2)OCH(3) (1,2-dimethoxyethane) with a single monomer unit, is suggested not to be an adequate model for this polymer with respect to hydrogen bonding to water. The hydrogen bonding in a 1:1 C(1)E(m)C(1)-water adduct in carbon tetrachloride represents primitive incipient hydration of poly(oxyethylene). The present results indicate that both monodentate and bidentate hydrogen bonds are important and the latter is destabilized more rapidly than the former with increasing temperature. This dehydration process can be a potential mechanism of the poly(oxyethylene)-water phase separation. 相似文献

A series of viologen polymers with bromide, tosylate, and triflimide as counterions were prepared by either the Menshutkin reaction or metathesis reaction in a common organic solvent. Their polyelectrolyte behavior in methanol was determined by solution viscosity measurements, and their chemical structures were determined by Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform NMR spectroscopy. They were characterized for their thermotropic liquid‐crystalline properties with a number of experimental techniques. Each of the viologen polymers with organic counterions had a low melting transition or fusion temperature above which it formed either a high‐order smectic phase or a low‐order smectic phase. Each of them also exhibited a smectic‐to‐isotropic transition. The ranges of the liquid‐crystalline phase were 80–88 °C for viologen polymers with tosylate as a counterion and 120–146 °C for viologen polymers with triflimide as a counterion. They had excellent thermal stability. The ranges of thermal stability were 288–329 °C for viologen polymers with tosylate as a counterion and 343–350 °C for viologen polymers with triflimide as a counterion. The fluorescence property for all of the viologen polymers in either aqueous or methanol solution was also included in this study. For example, the viologen polymer containing the 4,4′‐bipyridinium and p‐xylyl units along the backbone of the polymer chain with triflimide as a counterion had an absorption spectrum (λmax = 265 nm), an excitation spectrum (λex values = 357, 443, and 454 with monitoring at 533 nm), and an emission spectrum (λem = 536 nm with excitation at 430 and 450 nm) in methanol. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Large single crystals of La2−xSrxCuO4 (LSCO) high-Tc superconductors were grown by the infrared heating floating zone (IR-FZ) method using a tilting-mirror-type image furnace. The maximum diameter of the LSCO crystals increased to 10 mm in the tilting-mirror-type image furnace from 6 mm in the conventional image furnace. CuO rich feeds were required for the crystal growth using the tilting-mirror-type image furnace to compensate for the lack of CuO caused by the significant evaporation of CuO during the growth. The evaporation of CuO was affected by the tilting angle of the mirrors of the image furnace and by feed diameter. The optimized growth conditions were as follows: mirror tilting angle, 20°; feed diameter, 10 mm∅; and feed composition 50.7 mol% CuO. 相似文献
