The salt of the 8-hydroxyquinoline and benzilic (diphenylglycolic) acid was prepared and incorporated into active charcoal
in order to have an adsorber able to concentrate actinides dispersed in natural waters before quantitative or radiochemical
analysis. The formation and the characterization of this adsorber, (adsorber B), was compared with another system containing
benzilic salt of the substituted quinoline, 2-methyl, 8-hydroxyquinoline, (adsorber R). The adsorption ability of the adsorbers
B and R was compared with a third product (adsorber G), prepared by incorporating benzilic acid with d-glucosamine into the
charcoal. In this case, d-glucosamine gives a better stability to the system, as otherwise the benzilic acid could partially
be dissolved into the water system at equilibrium, during the adsorption experiments. The dissociation acid constants of all
the considered components were measured, in order to have some information on the adsorption mechanism. The compound formed
during the adsorption on the prepared adsorbers with uranium, thorium, and samarium were separately analyzed and identified
by means of IR and NMR. The role of the components in the adsorption was evidenced.

The synthesis and structural properties of Mg1−xMn2+xO4, for 0≤x≤1 are described. Complete miscibility in the solid state exists for this system. For the material with the correct stoichiometry, i.e. MgMn2O4, the effect of temperature on the cation distribution was investigated= above 600°C the inversion degree (m) starts increasing. The electrical conductivity shows a small dependence on P(O2) which is consistent with the small oxygen non-stoichiometry determined by means of thermogravimetry. The main contribution to the transport properties arises from the inversion equilibrium. Two distinct conductivity regimes, below and above the inversion threshold, can be assumed to explain the electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power results. 相似文献

Treatment of cyclohexadecanone ( 1g ; with I2 (2.2 mol‐euqiv.) and KOH in MeOH) furnished the unsaturated (Z)‐ester 2g in 83% yield, via a stereospecific Favorskii rearrangement (Scheme 1). Further treatment with 3‐chloroperbenzoic acid (m‐CPBA) afforded the unreported epoxy ester 3g (88% yield), which was cleaved in 33% yield to Exaltone® (=cyclopentadecanone; 1f ) with NaOH in MeOH/H2O and then HCl at 65°. Crocus sativus L. belongs to the Iridaceae family and it is commonly known as saffron. The different cultures together with the geoclimatic characteristics of the territory determine a different chemical composition that characterizes the final product. This is why a complete knowledge of this product is fundamental, from which more than 150 chemical compounds have been extracted from, but only about one third of them have been identified. The chemical composition of saffron has been studied in relation to its efficacy in coping with neurodegenerative retinal diseases. Accordingly, experimental results provide evidence of a strict correlation between chemical composition and neuroprotective capacity. We found that saffron’s ability to cope with retinal neurodegeneration is related to: (1) the presence of specific crocins and (2) the contribution of other saffron components. We summarize previous evidence and provide original data showing that results obtained both “in vivo” and “in vitro” lead to the same conclusion. 相似文献

Cucurbitaceae is a family of health-promoting plants due to their compounds with beneficial effects. The aim of this study was to analyze, for the first time, the chemical composition, the antioxidant activity and the metal chelating properties of fruit juices obtained from four different species of the Cucurbitaceae family cultivated in Romania, namely Momordica charantia, Cucumis metuliferus, Benincasa hispida and Trichosanthes cucumerina. The samples of juice were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and all the four species displayed high levels of the two triterpenes, oleanolic and ursolic acids, and also in phenolic compounds, including catechin, (−)-epicatechin and gallic acid. The juices demonstrated significant antioxidant activity against the free radical 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (ranging from 20 to 95%,), a good iron binding ability (ranging from 7.45 ± 0.28% to 86.95 ± 0.97%) and also promising antioxidant potential against the ABTS radical (ranging from 4.97 to 32.60 μETx/mL juice). Our findings raise interesting questions for further research on Cucurbitaceae fruit juices and, consequently, their very good antioxidant potential suggests these fruits should be further explored for their protective effect against oxidative damage. This is the first time the chemical composition and antioxidant activities of fruit juices from these four Romanian Cucurbitaceae varieties have been investigated. 相似文献
