A new and solvent‐free process for the fabrication of inkjet printed ionic liquid‐polymer gel microstructures with high‐resolution (line widths of ~40 μm), good electrical conductivity (5–30 mS cm?1), optical transparency, and mechanical flexibility is presented. Carrying out the printing and polymerization process in nitrogen atmosphere eliminates the inhibiting influence of oxygen and guarantees homogeneously gelled structures. Careful selection and combination of ionic liquids (ILs) and unsaturated monomers makes it possible to achieve low viscosities which are printable with commercially available inkjet printers and printheads without adding extra solvents. By using different types and amounts of ILs and monomers the resulting properties of the printed IL‐polymer gels can be controlled in terms of ionic conductivity, optical transmission, and mechanical flexibility. Higher conductivities are possible by using a bifunctional instead of a monofunctional monomer, which allows one to lower the amount of monomer without loss in mechanical strength. Cast samples make it possible to obtain data of transmission (~90% for 170‐μm thick films) and mechanical flexibility (E = 0.02–0.23 MPa) of bulk material. Comparing electrical conductivity of printed and cast samples, the higher values of printed samples indicate the conductivity enhancing influence of moisture absorbed from the surrounding atmosphere after the fabrication process. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We present for the first time a complete characterization of a micro-solenoid for high resolution MR imaging of mass- and volume-limited samples based on three-dimensional B(0), B(1) per unit current (B(1)(unit)) and SNR maps. The micro-solenoids are fabricated using a fully micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) compatible process in conjunction with an automatic wire-bonder. We present 15 μm isotropic resolution 3D B(0) maps performed using the phase difference method. The resulting B(0) variation in the range of [-0.07 ppm to -0.157 ppm] around the coil center, compares favorably with the 0.5 ppm limit accepted for MR microscopy. 3D B(1)(unit) maps of 40 μm isotropic voxel size were acquired according to the extended multi flip angle (ExMFA) method. The results demonstrate that the characterized microcoil provides a high and uniform sensitivity distribution around its center (B(1)(unit) = 3.4 mT/A ± 3.86%) which is in agreement with the corresponding 1D theoretical data computed along the coil axis. The 3D SNR maps reveal a rather uniform signal distribution around the coil center with a mean value of 53.69 ± 19%, in good agreement with the analytical 1D data along coil axis in the axial slice. Finally, we prove the microcoil capabilities for MR microscopy by imaging Eremosphaera viridis cells with 18 μm isotropic resolution. 相似文献

A reduced order model is developed for low frequency, undamped, fully coupled structural–acoustic analysis of interior cavities backed by flexible structural systems. The reduced order model is obtained by applying a projection of the coupled system matrices, from a higher dimensional to a lower dimensional subspace, whilst preserving essential properties of the coupled system. The basis vectors for projection are computed efficiently using the Arnoldi algorithm, which generates an orthogonal basis for the Krylov Subspace containing moments of the original system. The key idea of constructing a reduced order model via Krylov Subspaces is to remove the uncontrollable, unobservable and weakly controllable, observable parts without affecting the transfer function of the coupled system. Three computational test cases are analyzed, and the computational gains and the accuracy compared with the direct inversion method in ANSYS. 相似文献

Glioblastoma multiforme is the most aggressive and invasive brain cancer consisting of genetically and phenotypically altering glial cells. It has massive heterogeneity due to its highly complex and dynamic microenvironment. Here, electrophysiological properties of U87 human glioma cell line were measured based on a dielectrophoresis phenomenon to quantify the population heterogeneity of glioma cells. Dielectrophoretic forces were generated using a gold-microelectrode array within a microfluidic channel when 3 Vpp and 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 kHz, 1, 2, 5, and 10 MHz frequencies were applied. We analyzed the dielectrophoretic behavior of 500 glioma cells, and revealed that the crossover frequency of glioma cells was around 140 kHz. A quantifying dielectrophoretic movement of the glioma cells exhibited three distinct glioma subpopulations: 50% of the glioma cells experienced strong, 30% of the cells were spread in the microchannel by moderate, and the rest of the cells experienced very weak positive dielectrophoretic forces. Our results demonstrated the dielectrophoretic spectra of U87 glioma cell line. Dielectrophoretic responses of glioma cells linked population heterogeneity to membrane properties of glioma cells rather than their size distribution in the population. 相似文献

Monolithic compliant mechanisms are elastic workpieces which transmit force and displacement from an input position to an output position. Continuum topology optimization is suitable to generate the optimized topology, shape and size of such compliant mechanisms. The optimization strategy for a single input single output compliant mechanism under volume constraint is known to be best implemented using an optimality criteria or similar mathematical programming method. In this standard form, the method appears unsuitable for the design of compliant mechanisms which are subject to multiple outputs and multiple constraints. Therefore an optimization model that is subject to multiple design constraints is required. With regard to the design problem of compliant mechanisms subject to multiple equality displacement constraints and an area constraint, we here present a unified sensitivity analysis procedure based on artificial reaction forces, in which the key idea is built upon the Lagrange multiplier method. Because the resultant sensitivity expression obtained by this procedure already compromises the effects of all the equality displacement constraints, a simple optimization method, such as the optimality criteria method, can then be used to implement an area constraint. Mesh adaptation and anisotropic filtering method are used to obtain clearly defined monolithic compliant mechanisms without obvious hinges. Numerical examples in 2D and 3D based on linear small deformation analysis are presented to illustrate the success of the method. 相似文献

The coarse-graining of a simple all-atom 2D microscopic model of graphene, in terms of "blobs" described by center of mass variables, is presented. The equations of motion of the coarse-grained variables take the form of dissipative particle dynamics (DPD). The coarse-grained conservative forces and the friction of the DPD model are obtained via a bottom-up procedure from molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The separation of timescales for blobs of 24 and 96 carbon atoms is sufficiently pronounced for the Markovian assumption, inherent to the DPD model, to provide satisfactory results. In particular, the MD velocity autocorrelation function of the blobs is well reproduced by the DPD model, provided that the effect of friction and noise is taken into account. However, DPD cross-correlations between neighbor blobs show appreciable discrepancies with respect to the MD results. Possible extensions to mend these discrepancies are briefly outlined. 相似文献

In this paper we introduce a two-sided Arnoldi method for the reduction of high order linear systems and we propose useful extensions, first of all a stopping criterion to find a suitable order for the reduced model and secondly, a selection procedure to significantly improve the performance in the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) case. One application is in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). We consider a thermo-electric micro thruster model, and a comparison between the commonly used Arnoldi algorithm and the two-sided Arnoldi is performed. 相似文献
