Higher homotopy of graphs has been defined in several articles. In Dochterman (Hom complexes and homotopy theory in the category of graphs. arXiv math/0605275 v2,28/09/2006, 2006), the authors asked for a companion homology theory. We define such a theory for the category of unoriented reflexive graphs; it exhibits a long exact sequence for a pair of graphs (G, A), satisfies an excision property and a Hurewicz theorem. This allows us to compute the top homology of the graphical n-spheres showing that the theory is not trivial and is able to detect n-dimensional holes in a graph. The long-term objective is to compare the homotopy of the topological and graphical spheres.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate with a time fractional-order derivative in a three-species predator-prey model with the presence of prey social behavior. A new approximation for predator-prey interaction in the presence of prey social behavior has been considered. For the model analysis, the study has been divided into two principal parts. First of all, we study the local stability of the equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcation. Then, for the numerical analysis, the Caputo fractional derivative operator is utilized to approximate the numerical solution of the model. An excellent agreement is seen between the numerical results and the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

We present a lab-on-chip approach to the study of multiphase transport in porous media. The applicability of microfluidics to biological and chemical analysis has motivated much development in lab-on-chip methodologies. Several of these methodologies are also well suited to the study of transport in porous media. We demonstrate the application of rapid prototyping of microfluidic networks with approximately 5000 channels, controllable wettability, and fluorescence-based analysis to the study of multiphase transport phenomena in porous media. The method is applied to measure the influence of wettability relative to network regularity, and to differentiate initial percolation patterns from active flow paths. Transport phenomena in porous media are of critical importance to many fields and particularly in many energy-related applications including liquid water transport in fuel cells, oil recovery, and CO(2) sequestration.  相似文献

A 3D numerical analysis of the flow and mass transfer in helical pipes is presented. The interpretation of the flow patterns and their impact on mass transfer is shown to require a non-orthogonal pseudo-stream function based visualization. The strong coupling between torsion and curvature effects, and the resulting secondary flow regimes are well characterized by a parameter combining both the Dean (Dn) and Germano numbers (Gn). For membrane separation applications, helical modules combining high curvature with low torsion would alleviate concentration polarization and yield appreciable flux improvement.  相似文献

The dynamics and rheology of particles in a Newtonian fluid subjected to shear are simulated using Lattice Boltzmann Method. A computationally-efficient Smoothed Profile Method is used to resolve fluid-solid interactions, and the Lennard-Jones inter-particle potential is implemented to account for inter-particle forces. The use of a bi-periodic computational domain with Lees-Edward boundary conditions allows simulation for systems consisting of a large number of particles under shear. The method is validated for single and dual particle problems and an analysis is performed for multi-particle problems under a range of shear rates and particle fractions. The introduction of particle-particle interactions, which are physically important in many engineering processes, is found to have a considerable impact on the dynamics, agglomeration and rheology. The total stress exhibits high unsteadiness primarily due to the solid component contribution, at higher particle fractions. The simulations underscore the complex interplay between shear, interparticle forces and agglomeration and the complex dependencies of the rheological properties.  相似文献

The reaction of silyl protected alcohols, amines and thiols with lithium powder and a catalytic amount of naphthalene, in THF, at 0 °C led, after hydrolysis, to the recovery of the free alcohols, amines and thiols in very good yields. At least a phenyl group was required in the silyl protecting group for the success of the reaction. Some polyfunctionalised starting materials have successfully been deprotected. The stereochemical outcome of the deprotection of a silylated chiral secondary alcohol has also been studied and no racemization was observed. The process has shown to be a good alternative to the acid-catalysed desilylation procedures, the latter being not useful for the deprotection of some silylated tertiary alcohols.  相似文献

The naphthalene-catalysed lithiation of Alloc- and Cbz-protected alcohols, amines and thiols in THF at 0 °C led, after quenching with methanol, to the recovery of the free alcohols, amines and thiols in short reaction times and with very good yields. The selectivity for the removal of the Alloc- or the Cbz- group in a polyfunctionalised substrate has been studied. The selective reductive cleavage of a benzylic carbon-oxygen bond was achieved in the presence of an allylic carbon-oxygen or carbon-nitrogen bond. This method represents a great improvement in comparison with the previously reported deprotection procedures by dissolving metals, since it avoids the use of the toxic liquid ammonia and, therefore, the need to perform the reaction at low temperatures.  相似文献
