Electro-optic size effects and effects of nonlinear saturation in PLZT ceramics

Results of studying electro-optic size effects and nonlinear electro-optic effects in ferroelectric PLZT ceramics are presented. It is established that the presence of electro-optic size effects makes microvolume samples of PLZT ceramics promising for designing efficient modulating devices.     

Hilbert algebras as implicative partial semilattices

The infimum of elements a and b of a Hilbert algebra are said to be the compatible meet of a and b, if the elements a and b are compatible in a certain strict sense. The subject of the paper will be Hilbert algebras equipped with the compatible meet operation, which normally is partial. A partial lower semilattice is shown to be a reduct of such an expanded Hilbert algebra i ?both algebras have the same ?lters.An expanded Hilbert algebra is actually an implicative partial semilattice (i.e., a relative subalgebra of an implicative semilattice),and conversely.The implication in an implicative partial semilattice is characterised in terms of ?lters of the underlying partial semilattice.     

Conductivities and silver electrode polarization resistance of solid electrolyte ceramics from ZrO2-Y2O3 powder synthesized in air plasma

Ceramic specimens have been obtained from the powder of ZrO₂-7.5 mol% Y₂O₃ having a specific surface area of 30 m²/g synthesized in air plasma. The novelty of this research lies in the fact that the plasma process makes it possible to prepare so-called nanopowders with a particle size less than 100 nm, possessing specific physical, chemical and technological properties. The sintered density of the specimens was 94–96% of the theoretical value, 6.001 g/cm³. The X-ray diffraction pattern of the specimens corresponded to a face-centered cubic lattice. Impedance in the frequency range of 100 Hz–15 MHz and d.c. polarization curves in a potential range of −10 to 10 mV were measured in the temperature range 200–850 °C in heating and cooling cycles. The intragrain, the grain boundary and the total bulk conductivities, the electrode polarization resistance and their activation energies were determined. The thermal stability of the studied system was proved in three measurement series up to 600–850 °C in heating and cooling cycles. The results obtained have shown that the conductivity of ZrO₂-7.5 mol% Y₂O₃ ceramics is not solely a function of temperature, but also depends on the previous thermal state of the ceramics. A sharp extrapolation theorem for lorentz spaces

Basing on geometric properties, we give a complete characterization of the Lorentz spaces that can be sharp extrapolation spaces for different types of the behavior of the growth of the norms of an operator in tending to a critical exponent. The results of this article are connected with the calculation of extrapolation constructions in about the same way as theorems of the Calderón-Mityagin type.     

Estimation over Curves of the Functions Given by Dirichlet Series on a Half-Plane

We study the maximal term of the Hadamard composition of Dirichlet series with real exponents. We obtain a lower estimate for the sum of a Dirichlet series over a curve arbitrarily approaching the convergence line.     

Tocochromanols composition in kernels recovered from different apricot varieties: RP-HPLC/FLD and RP-UPLC-ESI/MSn study

Composition of tocochromanols in kernels recovered from 16 different apricot varieties (Prunus armeniaca L.) was studied. Three tocopherol (T) homologues, namely α, γ and δ, were quantified in all tested samples by an RP-HPLC/FLD method. The γ-T was the main tocopherol homologue identified in apricot kernels and constituted approximately 93% of total detected tocopherols. The RP-UPLC-ESI/MSⁿ method detected trace amounts of two tocotrienol homologues α and γ in the apricot kernels. The concentration of individual tocopherol homologues in kernels of different apricots varieties, expressed in mg/100 g dwb, was in the following range: 1.38–4.41 (α-T), 42.48–73.27 (γ-T) and 0.77–2.09 (δ-T). Moreover, the ratio between individual tocopherol homologues α:γ:δ was nearly constant in all varieties and amounted to approximately 2:39:1.     

Alternative products in one-pot reaction of benzylidenemalononitrile,N-methyl-2-thiocarbamoylacetamide,and ω-bromoacetophenone

N-Methyl-2-benzoylmethylsulfanyl-4-phenylnicotinamide and N-methyl-2-(4-phenyl-1,3-thiazol-2-yl)-acetamide have been obtained as alternative products to the desired N-methyl-2,3-dihydro-7H-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyridine-8-carboxamide by a one-pot cyclocondensation of benzylidenemalononitrile, N-methyl-2-thiocarbamoylacetamide, piperidine, and ω-bromoacetophenone. 2-Amino-1-methyl-6-oxo-4-phenyl-5-(4-phenyl-1,3-thiazol-2-yl)-1,6-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile has been obtained as main product by treatment of benzylidenemalononitrile with N-methyl-2-(1,3-thiazol-2-yl)acetamide. Dipole moment derivatives for SO2

Dipole moment derivatives for the vibration-rotation fundamentals v₁, v₂, and v₃ of ³²S¹⁶O₂ have been computed to have the mean absolute values 60.5, 63.6, and 165.9 esu G^?1/2, respectively. These results include remeasured band intensities for v₁ and v₂.
