The temperature of neutral gas of the nitrogen-corona discharge has been measured using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The variation of the optical path in the interferometer has been measured, together with the refraction index. Density variations were also calculated. Values of measured temperatures of the neutrals in the corona discharge were obtained under both positive and negative coronas.  相似文献

The strengthening of concrete structures in situ with externally bonded fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) composite sheets is increasingly being used for the repair and rehabilitation of existing structures. However, debonding along the FRP-concrete interface can lead to premature failure of the structures. The interfacial stresses have played a significant role in understanding this premature debonding failure of such repaired structures. In this paper, an improved theoretical analysis of the interfacial stresses is presented for a simply supported concrete beam bonded with a FRP plate. The shear strains of the adherends have been included in the present theoretical analysis by assuming a parabolic distribution of shear stress across their thickness. Contrary to some existing studies, the assumption that both adherends have the same curvature is not used in the present investigation. The results of this numerical study are beneficial for understanding the mechanical behavior of material interfaces and for the design of hybrid FRP-reinforced concrete structures.  相似文献

Supported copper catalysts on low surface area silica were prepared by several methods and characterized by AAS, XRD, N2 adsorption, SEM, H2-TPR, N2O titration, TGA-DTA, UV–Vis techniques. Their hydrogenating properties were examined in the gas-phase hydrogenation of benzaldehyde. The analysis of characterization results revealed that the choice of preparation method affected the texture, composition, and structure of the calcined and reduced Cu/SiO2 catalysts. The dispersion and size distribution of copper species was present in different forms in the catalysts that exhibited low specific surface areas. In gas-phase hydrogenation of benzaldehyde to benzyl alcohol, the catalysts tested at the reaction temperatures of 160 and 200 °C were stable and conducted to a good catalytic activity and benzyl alcohol selectivity ranging between 5 and 39 µmol min?1 g?1 and 0–95%, respectively. The activity of the catalysts in gas-phase hydrogenation also depended on the particle size and the nature of copper species formed on low surface area silica.  相似文献

The electrochemical homo-polymerization of o-, m- and p-aminobenzoic acids has been performed on Pt electrodes in perchloric acid aqueous medium by cyclic scanning of the potential. Different limit potentials were employed to obtain thin polymeric films. When the switching potential was extended beyond the respective monomer oxidation peak, a rather degraded material was obtained. In situ FTIR spectroscopy has been used to characterize the redox response of films synthesized at the lower potential limits. Characteristic absorption features related with benzenoid and quinoid rings and different types of C-N bonds suggest the presence of redox processes similar to those undergone by the parent compound polyaniline. In addition, the existence of a chemical interaction between -COOH and -NH- groups in the reduced state of the three homopolymers studied can be suggested. Carbon dioxide has been detected at potentials higher than 1.0 V (RHE) irrespective of the polymeric material, thus indicating its degradation.  相似文献

Polymerization reactions are based on complex processes that are somewhat difficult to predict via mathematical models, especially without experimental data. A method to investigate the cure of epoxies via in-situ Raman spectroscopy has been developed.Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is the industry-standard method for determining the cure of a polymer, but it is a labor-intensive method that is also fairly slow. Raman spectroscopy was used to monitor the cure chemistry of DGEBA (Diglycidyl Ether of Bisphenol A) and to observe in-situ the evolution of the reticulation.  相似文献

Two refined displacement models, RSDT1 and RSDT2, are developed for a bending analysis of functionally graded sandwich plates. Unlike any other theory, the number of unknown functions involved is only four, as against five in case of other shear deformation theories. The developed models are variationally consistent, have strong similarity with classical plate theory in many aspects, do not require shear correction factor, and give rise to transverse shear stress variation such that the transverse shear stresses vary parabolically across the thickness satisfying shear stress-free surface conditions. The accuracy of the analysis presented is demonstrated by comparing the results with solutions derived from other higher-order models. The functionally graded layers are assumed to have isotropic, two-constituent material distribution through the thickness, and the modulus of elasticity, Poisson’s ratio of the faces, and thermal expansion coefficients are assumed to vary according to a power-law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The core layer is still homogeneous and made of an isotropic ceramic material. Numerical results for deflections and stresses of functionally graded metal–ceramic plates are investigated. It can be concluded that the proposed models are accurate and simple in solving the bending behavior of functionally graded plates.  相似文献

A detailed study about the synthesis, characterization and properties of poly(o-methylaniline)(PoMea)/maghnite nanocomposites has been performed. Changes in the characteristics of the nanocomposites, depending on the intercalated cation between the clay layers before the synthesis, have been observed. Intercalated morphology has been detected by TEM in nanocomposites containing copper-treated maghnite (Magh-Cu), while when maghnite treated with strong acids was used (Magh-H); an exfoliated material has been obtained. Also, remarkable differences in the properties of the polymers have been observed by TG-MS and FTIR, suggesting that the polymer produced with Magh-H has a higher degree of branching. The electrochemical behavior of the polymers extracted from the nanocomposites has been studied by cyclic voltammetry. Good electrochemical response has been observed for PoMea grown into Magh-Cu but not for the one polymerized into Magh-H.  相似文献

In nickel-based superalloys with high volume fraction of γ′ precipitates, dislocations have to experience high curvatures in order to enter narrow channels by glide in the {111} planes of the fcc γ matrix. Observations of in situ dynamic sequences performed in a transmission electron microscope on several industrial superalloys have shown the occurrence of decorrelated movements of Shockley partial dislocations, originating from perfect dislocation dissociation. By evaluating the effective stress acting on each one of these partial dislocations, as well as their respective flexibility, the possible occurrence of such movements for some particular dislocation characters and channel widths is accounted for. These movements can play an important role in the creep behaviour of these materials in the low deformation rate regime.  相似文献
