A novel state-space form for studying transverse vibrations of double-beam systems, made of two outer elastic beams continuously joined by an inner viscoelastic layer, is presented and numerically validated. As opposite to other methods available in the literature, the proposed technique enables one to consider (i) inhomogeneous systems, (ii) any boundary conditions and (iii) rate-dependent constitutive law for the inner layer. The formulation is developed by means of Galerkin-type approximations for the fields of transverse displacements in the system. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed approach is accurate and versatile, and lends itself to be used for both frequency- and time-domain analyses.  相似文献

For engineering systems, the dynamic state estimates provide valuable information for the detection and prediction of failure due to noise and vibration. From this perspective, nonlinear filtering techniques are applied to the problem of state estimation of dynamical systems undergoing noisy limit cycle oscillation. Specifically, the extended Kalman filter, ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter are used to track the limit cycle oscillations of a Duffing oscillator using noisy observational data. The noisy limit cycle oscillations feature highly non-Gaussian trends. The efficiency and limitations of the extended Kalman filter, ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter in tracking limit cycle oscillations are examined with respect to the model and measurement noise and sparsity of measurement data. For the limit cycle oscillations considered here, it is demonstrated that the ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter outperform the extended Kalman filter in the presence of sparse observational data or strong measurement noise. For moderate measurement noise and frequent measurement data, the ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter perform equally well in comparison to the extended Kalman filter.  相似文献

We examine an energy harvesting system of two magnetopiezoelastic oscillators coupled by electric circuit and driven by harmonic excitation. We focus on the effects of synchronization and escape from a single potential well. In the system with relative mistuning in the stiffness of the harvesting oscillators, we show the dependence of the voltage output for different excitation frequencies.  相似文献

We examine multiple responses of a vibrational energy harvester composed of a verticalbeam and a tip mass. The beam is excited horizontally by a harmonic inertial force whilemechanical vibrational energy is converted to electrical power through a piezoelectricpatch. The mechanical resonator can be described by single or double well potentialsdepending on the gravity force from the tip mass. By changing the tip mass we examine theappearance of various solutions and their basins of attraction. Identification ofparticular solutions of the energy harvester is important as each solution may provide adifferent level of power output.  相似文献
