The magnetic field effect (MFE) on the radical pair (RP) generated by photoexcitation of the acetyl derivative of phenyl pyrylium ion (APP+) in the presence of biphenyl, an electron donor, has been investigated. The escape yield at 3.5 T is more than ten times the zero-field value. The MFE reaches near-saturation twice, once at fields of the order of 10mT and again at about 3.5 T. The low-field variation of the MFE conforms to the pattern expected for the isotropic HFC mechanism, and the high-field variation to that expected for the relaxation mechanism. In this particular system two types of radical pair are generated, one by electron transfer from the donor to the acceptor and another by H-abstraction from the micelle. The MFEs on the two types of 3RP have been compared.  相似文献

We report a simple, non-intrusive fibre-optic refractometer sensor for measuring the refractive index of liquid and optically transparent solid medium. Sensing principle of the proposed sensor is based on monitoring the back-reflected light signal through the second input port of a 2 × 1 single-mode fibre coupler when light signal from the output port is focussed at the interface of air and a liquid or solid medium and back-reflected exactly along the same path. Depending on the refractive index of the medium, the amount of back-reflected intensity would vary and in the present work we exploit this principle to measure the refractive index of an optically transparent medium. Variation of refractive index as small as 0.001 RIU can be measured with our proposed sensor.  相似文献

The unsteady laminar incompressible boundary layer flow of an electricallyconducting fluid in the stagnation region of two-dimensional and axisymmetricbodies with an applied magnetic field has been studied. The boundary layerequations which are parabolic partial differential equations with threeindependent variables have been reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations by using suitable transformations and then solved numerically using a shooting method. Here, we have obtained new solutions which are solutions of both the boundary layer and Navier-Stokes equations.  相似文献

A force field has been developed to describe the phase behaviour, interfacial, and transport properties of nitrogen and hydrocarbon mixtures under conditions relevant to those found in the high pressure extraction of oil from underground reservoirs. A Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo method is used to parametrize intermolecular potentials for the pure components by matching experimental and simulated liquid and vapour coexisting densities. Also the surface tension, diffusion coefficient and shear viscosity of nitrogen and its mixtures with butane have been determined. The latter properties were obtained by canonical molecular dynamics simulations. The diffusion coefficient and shear viscosity were calculated by a Green-Kubo method. Results for pure nitrogen are given for temperatures ranging from 70 K to 110K. For mixtures of nitrogen with butane, results are presented at 339.4 K and 380.2 K. Good agreement is found between the results of simulations and available experimental data.  相似文献

Relativistic effects on the linear and nonlinear properties of electron plasma waves are investigated using the one-dimensional quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) model for a two-component electron?Cion dense quantum plasma. Using standard perturbation technique, a nonlinear Schr?dinger equation (NLSE) containing both relativistic and quantum effects has been derived. This equation has been used to discuss the modulational instability of the wave. Through numerical calculations it is shown that relativistic effects significantly change the linear dispersion character of the wave. Unlike quantum effects, relativistic effects are shown to reduce the instability growth rate of electron plasma waves.  相似文献

A new united-atom force field is proposed for branched and linear alkanes. The proposed force field is used to study vapour-liquid equilibria for pure components and binary mixtures. Results of phase equilibria simulations are found to be in good agreement with available experimental data.  相似文献
