Nonlinear susceptibility of a quantum dot (QD) embedded in a two-sided cavity, is studied theoretically from a weak-coupling to a strong-coupling regime. In the relevance of a quantum logic gate, the corresponding nonlinear phase shifts (Kerr effect) are estimated for coherent wavepackets including one photon on average. In the weak-coupling regime, the phase shift enhances strongly as a function of a coupling constant between the cavity photon and QD, and eventually saturates in the strong-coupling regime. We also show transmission spectra to evaluate the efficiency of the phase shift. Although the efficiency decreases monotonically in the weak-coupling regime, it rises in the strong-coupling regime.  相似文献

The reaction of tungsten hexacarbonyl, W(CO)6, with antimony(V) fluoride, SbF5, in the conjugate Br?nsted-Lewis superacid HF-SbF5 at 40 degrees C produces quantitatively the salt [W(CO)6(FSbF5)][Sb2F11] as the main product. The observed 2e- oxidation without any loss of CO is unprecedented. The cation [W(CO)6(FSbF5)]+ is seven coordinated with a distorted C2v capped trigonal prismatic structure. [W(CO)6(FSbF5)][Sb2F11] crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21 (No. 4). a = 8.2051(12) A, b = 16.511(3) A, c = 8.1432(2) A, beta = 111.5967(6) degrees, V = 1025.8(2) A3, Z = 2. Number of reflections measured = 9112, unique 4410. Residuals on F, I > 3 sigma (I): R (Rw) = 0.023 (0.023). In the [W(CO)6(FSbF5)]+ cation the FSbF5 group is very tightly coordinated to tungsten with the bridging fluorine nearly equidistant from W and Sb. The details of the molecular structure are compared to those to polymeric [[Mo(CO)4]2(cis-mu-F2SbF4)3]x[Sb2F11]x reported by us very recently.  相似文献

Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are the most widely used medicines for relief of pain. These drugs have some side effects, particularly toxicity in the gastrointestinal tract and kidneys. Various approaches have been used for obtaining safer anti-inflammatory drugs. In this review we have summarized the recent developments in the following areas; (i) mode of action of NSAIDs (ii) Role of COX-1 & COX-2 in inflammation, (iii) Different approaches used to improve gastric tolerance i.e. chemical manipulation, formulation & co-administration, development of non specific (COX-1 & COX-2 inhibitors) and specific (COX-2 inhibitors) inflammation inhibitors, and development of inflammation inhibitors having a mode of action other than COX-1 & COX-2 inhibition. We have also focused on the safety of COX-2 inhibitors and the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds and their role as inflammation inhibitors.  相似文献

Summary The iron(III) compound, FeCl(OH)(MeCO2) · MeCO2H · 0.5 H2O, (1), interacts with the sample bidentate ligand, 2,2-bipyridyl (bipy), to form an aduct, Fe2Cl2(OH)2(MeCO2)2 · (bipy). By the loss of protons, anthranilic (anthH) and salicylic (salH2) acids behave as uninegative charged ligands to give FeCl(anth)2 · H2O and FcCl(salH)2 · H2O, respectively. The former decomposes on heatingin vacuo to form Fe2O(anth)4 while the latter yields Fe2O(sal)2. Acetylacetone (acacH) and 8-hydroxyquinoline (quinH) give FeCl(acac)2 and FeCl(quin)2 · (quinH). The latter desolvates at 140°/10–4 torr to form FeCl(quin)2. l.r. spectra, thermal decomposition, molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility studies at room temperature have been used to characterize these compounds.  相似文献

The recent advances in the study of light emission from matter induced by synchrotron radiation: X‐ray excited optical luminescence (XEOL) in the energy domain and time‐resolved X‐ray excited optical luminescence (TRXEOL) are described. The development of these element (absorption edge) selective, synchrotron X‐ray photons in, optical photons out techniques with time gating coincide with advances in third‐generation, insertion device based, synchrotron light sources. Electron bunches circulating in a storage ring emit very bright, widely energy tunable, short light pulses (<100 ps), which are used as the excitation source for investigation of light‐emitting materials. Luminescence from silicon nanostructures (porous silicon, silicon nanowires, and Si–CdSe heterostructures) is used to illustrate the applicability of these techniques and their great potential in future applications.  相似文献

The effect of various organic solvents on the absorption characteristics of vanadium was studied in fuel-rich oxy-acetylene and nitrous oxide-acetylene flames. The absorption of the 3183.9 Å line of vanadium was greatly enhanced by the use of various mixed organic solvents when fed to oxy-acetylene flames. In the case of the nitrous oxide-acetylene flame, the addition of diethylene glycol (about 8% in the final solution) and similar compounds to the aqueous solution of vanadium increased the absorption by about 50%. The observations and the possible role of the mixed organic solvents are discussed.  相似文献
