Stereoselective total synthesis of (−)-zeylenol,a key intermediate for the synthesis of (+)-pipoxide, (−)-uvarigranol G and (−)-tonkinenin A

Total synthesis of (?)-zeylenol, a key intermediate for the synthesis of (+)-pipoxide, (?)-uvarigranol G and (?)-tonkinenin A was achieved from commercially available starting material d-mannose. The key steps are mixed aldol condensation, Grignard reaction, ring closing metathesis and regioselective benzoylation.     

A new multicomponent approach to highly functionalized 2,3-dihydroisoxazoles

The synthesis of highly functionalized 2,3-dihydroisoxazoles by a one-pot multicomponent reaction of an aldehyde, hydroxamic acid, and malononitrile or methyl cyanoacetate is described.     

Synthesis and Cytotoxicity Evaluation of Novel Andrographolide‐1,2,3‐Triazole Derivatives

A series of new andrographolide‐1,2,3‐triazole derivatives, 3a , 3b , 3c , 3d , 3e , 3f , 3g , 3h , 3i , 3j , 3k , were synthesized from a natural bioactive labdane type diterpenoid, andrographolide. All the derivatives were screened against human cancer cell lines MCF7, MDA‐MB‐231, COLO205, HepG2, K562, Hela, and HEK293 to evaluate their cytotoxic activity. All the compounds showed anticancer activity selectively against K562 cell line, with IC₅₀ values ranging from 8.00 to 17.11 µM, and are inactive against the rest of the cell lines. Compounds 3c and 3d showed significant cytotoxicity among the synthesized derivatives. The in silico docking studies revealed compounds 3b and 3d with high binding affinity against the cancer target, transient receptor potential vanilloid 1.     

An efficient and simple method for synthesis of 2,2-disubstituted-2H-chromenes by condensation of a phenol with a 1,1-disubstituted propargyl alcohol using BF3·Et2O as the catalyst

An efficient and simple method for the synthesis of 2,2-disubstituted-2H-chromenes by one-step cyclocondensation of a phenol with a variety of 1,1-disubstituted propargyl alcohols using BF₃·Et₂O as the catalyst is described.     

A facile method for the preparation of hexafluoroisopropanol functionalized derivatives using hexafluoroacetone trihydrate via a carbonyl-ene reaction

Hexafluoroacetone trihydrate was shown to undergo an efficient carbonyl-ene reaction with a variety of alkenes in the presence of molecular sieves under microwave heating and conventional heating producing hexafluoroisopropanol functionalized derivatives in high yields.

An efficient stereoselective total synthesis of botryolide-E by a chiral-pool approach is described.     

ZnBr2‐Catalyzed Efficient Oxidative Homo Coupling of Aryl Magnesium Bromides

Oxidative homo coupling of various arylmagnesium bromides in the presence of ZnBr₂ gave the corresponding symmetrical biaryls in moderate to good yields at room temperature. An efficient method under mild conditions without the use of reoxidant is described.     

An efficient and simple method for the preparation of symmetrical disiloxanes from hydrosilanes by Lewis acid-catalyzed air oxidation

Symmetrical disiloxanes were prepared in high yields by air oxidation of mono, di, and trihydrosilanes under Lewis acid catalysis.     

Efficient microwave-assisted synthesis of oximes from acetohydroxamic acid and carbonyl compounds using BF3·OEt2 as the catalyst

An efficient synthesis of oximes by reaction of carbonyls with acetohydroxamic acid using BF₃·OEt₂ as a catalyst is described.     

EPR investigation of TiO2 nanoparticles with temperature-dependent properties

An in situ electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) study has been carried out for anatase (Hombikat UV100) and rutile TiO(2) nanoparticles at liquid helium (He) temperature (4.2 K) under UV irradiation. Rutile titania was synthesized by ultrasonic irradiation with titanium tetrachloride (TiCl(4)) as the precursor. XRD and Raman results evidence the crystallinity of titania phases. The nature of trapped electrons and holes has been investigated by EPR spectroscopy under air and vacuum conditions. Illumination of TiO(2) powder (anatase and rutile) at 4.2 K resulted in the detection of electrons being trapped at Ti(4+) sites within the bulk and holes trapped at lattice oxide ions at the surface. The stability of electron traps was very sensitive to temperature in both phases of TiO(2). The annealing kinetics of the EPR detected radicals has been studied from 4.2 K to ambient temperature and also for calcined titania particles from 523 to 1273 K.
