A note about the t’Hooft ansatz for SU(N) real-time gauge theories

The t’Hooft ansatz, which reduces the classical Yang-Mills theory to the λϕ⁴ one, is under consideration. It is shown that, in the framework of this ansatz, the real-time classical solutions for the arbitrary SU(N) gauge group are obtained by embedding SU(2) × SU(2) into SU(N). It is argued that this group structure is the only possibility in the framework of the considered ansatz. New explicit solutions for SU(3) and SU(5) gauge groups are shown. Kinetics of formaldehyde sorption by a weakly basic anion exchanger under dynamic conditions

The kinetic principles of sorption of formaldehyde sorption on a polyfunctional weak-basic anion exchanger are considered. It is found that the limiting step of sorbate uptake is external diffusion. Parameters of formaldehyde sorption from aqueous solutions under dynamic conditions are determined.

Effect of annealing on the photoelectric properties of single crystals of InSe

The effect of different heat-treatment regimes on recombination processes in n-In_1.03Se_0.97<0.5Zn> was studied by the method of square-wave modulation of light intensity, with subsequent analysis of the experimental data by the least squares method on a computer. The specimens were annealed at a temperature of 360–400°C in a vacuum [1] or Zn vapors [11] for different periods of time. They were then slowly cooled at a rate of 2 deg/min (A) or quenched (B). It was established the lifetime of the nonequilibrium carriers increases by nearly an order of magnitude in case IB, while the ratio of s- and r-centers remains nearly the same. In case IIA, _s decreases roughly by a factor of two, while in the best specimens it reaches 2.3·10^–5 sec. Annealing for 20 h in regime IA leads to a large increase (by about 25%) in the density of s-centers.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 11, pp. 61–64, November, 1990.     

Sorption of methanal by a weak basic anion exchanger

Peculiarities of the sorption of methanal on a polyfunctional anion exchanger are investigated. Based on the sorption isotherm, it is established that the distribution coefficient of the aldehyde in the ion exchanger-solution system depends exponentially on the concentration of the external solution. From breakthrough curves of sorption, the rate-determining stage of the absorption of the aldehyde in dynamic conditions is estimated. Structural changes in the sorbent phase saturated with methanal are supported by IR spectroscopy.     

Toward very high multiplicity event generator

The generating functional for probabilities is derived for the scalar model of Yang-Mills fields in terms of functional integrations. The example of 2 → 2 scattering is shown and problems that arise are mentioned.
