We have studied the photoexcited carrier relaxation dynamics in the Kondo insulator SmB6 and the heavy fermion metal YbAgCu4 as a function of temperature and excitation level. The dynamic response is found to be both strongly temperature dependent and nonlinear. The data are analyzed with a Rothwarf-Taylor bottleneck model, where the dynamics are governed by the presence of a narrow gap in the density of states near the Fermi level. The remarkable agreement with the model suggests that carrier relaxation in a broad class of heavy electron systems (both metals and insulators) is governed by the presence of a (weakly temperature dependent) hybridization gap.  相似文献

The non-monotonic distribution of secondary defects after two-step annealing of silicon implanted with boron ions is investigated using the TEM technique and the method of mercury probe along a bevel which was made chemically. This paper presents a case study, in which we apply and develop theoretical constructs to analyze motivating desires observed in an unconventional, culturally contextualized teacher education course. Participants, Israeli students from several different cultures and backgrounds (pre-service and in-service teachers, Arabs and Jews, religious and secular) together studied geometry through inquiry into geometric ornaments drawn from diverse cultures, and acquired knowledge and skills in multicultural education. To analyze affective behaviors in the course we applied the methodology of engagement structures recently proposed by Goldin and his colleagues. Our study showed that engagement structures were a powerful tool for examining motivating desires of the students. We found that the constructivist ethnomathematical approach highlighted the structures that matched our instructional goals and diminished those related to students’ feelings of dissatisfaction and inequity. We propose a new engagement structure “Acknowledge my culture” to embody motivating desires, arising from multicultural interactions, that foster mathematical learning.  相似文献

Ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopic studies have been performed on (C 5Me 5) 2U[- N=C(Ph)(CH 2Ph)] 2 and (C 5Me 5) 2Th[- N=C(Ph)(CH 2Ph)] 2 including, for the uranium complex, the first direct measurement of dynamics of electronic deactivation within a 5f-electron manifold. Evidence has been found for strong coupling between the electronic ground state and the f-electron manifold which dominates the dynamics of the excited states of the bis(ketimide) uranium complex. These also demonstrate strong singlet-f manifold coupling, which assists in the deactivation of the photoexcited state of the uranium complex, and provide information on intersystem crossing and internal conversion processes in both complexes.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to obtain quantitative characteristics of the ultraviolet absorption spectra as the molecular absorptivity at the wavelength of maximum absorbance. Organic as well as inorganic compounds were explored. A gas chromatography—ultraviolet absorption instrument has been used in the quantitative study of molecular ultraviolet absorption spectra in the vapour phase. The wavelength range studied was between 168 and 330?nm. The absorbance of 170 compounds was determined relative to perchloroethylene and their molecular absorptivities were calculated. For various groups of compounds, these relative absorptivities varied within two to three orders of magnitude. Standard curves were linear within four orders of magnitude from limit of quantification up to an absorption value of 1.5 absorbance units. The noise level was 3?×?10?5 absorbance units peak to peak at a bandwidth of 1.7?nm and a wavelength range from 180 to 330?nm was preferred. The detection limit for mesitylene was calculated to be 2 pg/s and for naphthalene 1 pg/s with 4?s store cycle time.  相似文献

Aromatic 1,4-diazabuta-1,3-dienes in glacial acetic acid with thiocyanates produce via criss-cross cycloaddition reactions the corresponding perhydroimidazo[4,5-d]imidazole-2,5-dithiones. When a mixture of thiocyanate and cyanate in a proper ratio was reacted together, nonsymmetrical 5-thioxo-perhydroimidazo[4,5-d]imidazole-2-ones were isolated. With cyanates substituted aromatic 1,4-diazabuta-1,3-dienes afforded product of acetic acid addition to primary formed 1,3-dipole intermediate 5-(4-substituted phenylamino)-3-(4-substituted phenyl)-2-oxoimidazolidin-4-yl acetate.  相似文献
