Thin layers YBa2Cu3O7–x. are deposited by a laser ablation technique using a pulsed excimer laser operating at 308 nm. The influence of the substrate material and the annealing procedure on the superconducting behaviour of the 123 film and the reactions between the film and the substrate are studied by resistance, X-ray patterns and TEM measurements. The best results are obtained for deposition on (100) SrTiO3 substrates. The resistance of the 1 m thick film shows a metallic behaviour, an onset in superconductivity at a temperature of 90 K, and has zero resistance at 86 K. The 123 material has a preferential oriented c-axis perpendicular to the surface plane. 相似文献

Using the positron annihilation lifetime technique, the annihilation parameters have been measured for epoxy and high density polyethylene (HDPE) as a function of AC electric field strength and the exposure time. The lifetime spectra have been resolved into three components, the longest component (I33) is attributed to the pick-off annihilation of o-Ps in the amorphous regions. The intermediate one (I22) is due to the annihilation of free positrons, while the shorter component (I11) stems from self annihilation of p-Ps. In HDPE, the o-Ps parameters 3 andI
3 are measured as a function of electric field strengths in the range from 10 to 100 kV/cm exposed for 24 hours. A decrease inI
3 of 8% is observed from zero to 50 kV/cm followed by an increase of the same order from 50 to 100 kV/cm. By investigating the effect of the exposure time from 2 to 24 hours at 16 and 50 kV/cm, the effect is confirmed and is attributed to the inhibition of o-Ps formation at lower field strength. Six sulfonated metallophthalocyanines, chelated with either aluminum or zinc and sulfonated to different degrees, were studied in vivo for their photodynamic activity in a rat skin-fold chamber model. The chamber, located on the back of female WAG/Rij rats, contained a syngeneic mammary carcinoma implanted into a layer of subcutaneous tissue. Twenty-four hours after intravenous administration of 2.5 μmol/kg of one of the dyes, the chambers received a treatment light dose of 600 J/cm2 with monochromatic light of 675 nm at a power density of 100 mW/ cm2. During light delivery and up to a period of 7 days after treatment, vascular effects of tumor and normal tissue were scored. Tumor cell viability was determined by histology and by reimplantation of the chamber contents into the skin of the same animal, either 2 h after treatment or after the 7 day observation period. Vascular effects of both tumor and subcutaneous tissue were strongest with dyes with the lowest degree of sulfonation and decreased with increasing degree of sulfonation. Tumor regrowth did not occur with aluminum phthalocyanine mono- and disulfonate and with zinc phthalocyanine monosulfonate. With the protocol that was used, complete necrosis without recovery was only observed when reimplantation took place at the end of the 7 day follow-up period. Reimplantation 2 h after treatment always resulted in tumor regrowth. At this interval, the presence of viable tumor cells was confirmed histologically. In general tumor tissue vasculature was more susceptible to photodynamic damage than vasculature of the normal tissue. The effect on the circulation of both tumor and normal tissue increased with decreasing degree of sulfonation. Based on this study, the photodynamic effects using the six sulfonated metallophthalocyanines on the vasculature can be ranked from high to low as: AlPcS2= ZnPcS1 > AIPcS1 > AIPcS4 > ZnPcS2 > ZnPcS4. 相似文献

Curve crossing in two excited states of IBr was studied by means of photodissociation with a pulse dye laser. The ratios of the formed ground state Br(2P and excited Br(2P) were measured at various wavelengths. They are compared with ratios calculated with the Landau-Zener formula, using parameters given by Child. The agreement between the measurements and the calculations is very good. 相似文献

For the parallel integration of stiff initial value problems (IVPs) three main approaches can be distinguished: approaches based on parallelism across the problem, on parallelism across the method and on parallelism across the steps. The first type of parallelism does not require special integration methods can be exploited within any available IVP solver. The methodparallel approach received some attention in the case of Runge-Kutta based methods. For these methods, the required number of processors is roughly half the order of the generating Runge-Kutta method and the speed-up with respect to a good sequential IVP solver is about a factor 2. The third type of parallelism (step-parallelism) can be achieved in any IVP solver based on predictor-corrector iteration. Most step-parallel methods proposed so far employ a large number of processors, but lack the property of robustness, due to a poor convergence behaviour in the iteration process. Hence, the effective speed-up is rather poor. The step-parallel iteraction process proposed in the present paper is less massively parallel, but turns out to be sufficiently robust to solve the four-stage Radau IIA corrector used in our experiments within a few effective iterations per step and to achieve speed-up factors up to 10 with respect to the best sequential codes.The research reported in this paper was partly supported by the Technology Foundation (STW) in the Netherlands. 相似文献

In this study, polycarbonate (PC) and polystyrene (PS) are subjected to plastic deformation by means of cold rolling and the resulting variation of the free volume and its subsequent time evolution after rolling is investigated by means of positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS). The value of the long lifetime component that is attributed to the decay of ortho-positronium (tau(o-Ps)) and its intensity (I(o-Ps)) are used to characterize, respectively, the size and the concentration of the free-volume holes. In addition to the PALS experiments, the effect of plastic deformation on the dynamic tensile modulus is investigated. The PALS results show that both for well-aged PC and PS an increase of tau(o-Ps) and a decrease of I(o-Ps) occur upon plastic deformation. During the subsequent aging, tau(o-Ps) tends to return to the value assumed before plastic deformation, while I(o-Ps) remains constant with time. These results corroborate the idea of an amorphous-amorphous transition, rather than that of a "mechanical rejuvenation" as proposed in the past to explain the ability of plastic deformation to reinitiate physical aging. Finally, a linear relation between the size of the free-volume holes and the dynamic tensile modulus is found, which suggests that the stiffness of amorphous glassy polymers is fully determined by their nanoscopic structure. 相似文献

Several options were investigated to increase the efficacy of photodynamic therapy (PDT) using protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) induced by topically applied 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA). Hairless mice with normal skin or UVB-light-induced skin changes were used as a model. In the first part of the study animals were illuminated immediately (t = 4) or 6 h (t = 10, PpIX fluorescence maximum) after the end of a 4 h ALA application. A total incident light fluence of 100 J/cm2 (514.5 nm) was delivered at a fluence rate of 100 or 50 mW/cm2. The PDT-induced damage to normal skin was more severe after treatment at t = 10 than at t = 4. Illumination at 50 mW/cm2 caused significantly more visible damage than the same light fluence given at 100 mW/cm2. For UVB-illuminated skin, different intervals or fluence rates made no significant difference in the severity of damage, although some qualitative differences occurred. In situ fluence rate measurements during PDT indicated vasoconstriction almost immediately after the start of the illumination. A fluorescein exclusion assay after PDT demonstrated vasoconstriction that was more pronounced in UVB-treated skin than in normal skin. The second part of the study examined the effect of two illuminations. The first illumination bleaches the PpIX fluorescence. At the start of the second illumination, new PpIX had been formed. Light of 514.5 nm was delivered at 100 mW/cm2 to a total incident light fluence of 200 J/cm2 at t = 4 (single illumination) or 100 J/cm2 at t = 4 plus 100 J/cm2 at t = 10. There was no visual difference in skin damage between 100 and 200 J/cm2 single illumination. Two-fold illumination (100 + 100 J/cm2) caused significantly more skin damage, indicating a potentially successful option for increasing the efficacy of topical ALA-PDT. 相似文献
