We report on the synthesis of cobalt dihydroxide [Co(OH)2] nanorods and their deposition on a 3-dimensional graphene network via chemical bath deposition. The structural characterization reveals deposited Co(OH)2 to consist of flower-like nanorods on a 3-dimensional graphene foam. The nanocomposite was used for glucose sensing by electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose in 1 M KOH solution. Cyclic voltammetry and amperometric studies revealed a high sensitivity for glucose (3.69 mA mM?1 cm?2) and a 16 nM detection limit. The nanocomposite offers a large effective surface (11.4 cm2) and is very selective for glucose over potentially interfering materials such as dopamine, ascorbic acid, lactose, fructose and urea, not the least due to a relatively low working potential of 0.6 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). The high sensitivity, low detection limit and very good selectivity of free-standing nanocomposite electrodes are attributed to the synergistic effect of (a) the good electrocatalytic activity of the NRs, and (b) the large surface area with high conductivity offered by the 3D graphene foam.

A series of novel thiazol‐2‐yl substituted‐1‐sulfonamide derivatives were synthesized from anilines. This involved the coupling of sulfonyl chlorides with thiazol amine to obtain the final compounds 7a – 7j and 8a – 8j . All synthesized compounds were screened for anticancer activity against MCF‐7, HeLa, A‐549, and Du‐145 cancer cell lines by 3‐(4,5‐dimethylthiazol‐2‐yl)‐2,5‐diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. Preliminary bioassay suggests that most of the compounds show anti‐proliferation to different degrees, with doxorubicin used as positive control. The synthesized compounds show IC50 values in the range 2.74–8.17 μM in the different cell lines. The compounds 7d , 7e , 8a , 8d , and 8e were active compared to doxorubicin. The compounds having butyl and pantyl chains were more active than their lower and higher carbon chains and also their ring counterparts.  相似文献

This study evaluated the in vitro antifungal activity of the chloroform extract of Plumeria bicolor and its phytoconstituents plumericin and isoplumericin against Candida species and Cryptococcus neoformans by measuring the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC). Plumericin's consistently high activity against Candida albicans, C. krusei, C. glabrata, C. tropicalis and Cryptococcus neoformans was more potent than isoplumericin and the standard antifungal drug nystatin suggesting its potential as a drug candidate for candidiasis and cryptococcosis.  相似文献

A straightforward process for synthesis of hybrid porous electrode material composed of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and copper sulfide (CuS) with layered structure on the stainless steel substrate is developed. As-synthesized hybrid electrode shows hexagonal crystal structure of CuS with 77 m2 gm−1 specific surface area and 22 nm average pore size. The specific capacitance obtained with rGO-CuS5 hybrid electrode is 1201 F g−1 at the sweep rate of 5 mV s−1 in 1 M LiClO4 aqueous electrolyte. The majority of charge stored by diffusion-controlled process indicates benefits of layered structures for solid-state energy storage. The rGO-CuS5-based hybrid symmetric supercapacitor delivers a specific capacitance (Cs) as high as 109 F g−1 at a sweep rate of 5 mV s−1 with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-LiClO4 gel electrolyte. Also, the specific energy of 44 Wh kg−1 and specific power of 1.4 kW kg−1 with 87% stability after 6000 cycles at an applied current of 5 mA are obtained. The simple process of synthesis of layered hybrid electrode material for flexible supercapacitor promises its use in smart textile and wearable electronic devices.
