Novel,Simple, and Efficient Synthesis of 3-(2-(5-(Benzylideneamino)-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)thiazol-4-yl)-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one Derivatives via a One-Pot,Four-Component Condensation Reaction

The synthesis of 3-(2-(5-(benzylideneamino)-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)thiazol-4-yl)-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one derivatives was achieved through a one-pot, four-component reaction involving condensation of 3-(2-bromoacetyl)-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one, thiosemicarbazide, phenacylcyanaide, and various aryl aldehydes in dry alcohol and few drops of acetic acid under reflux condition. This four-component reaction has some advantages such as ease of handling, good yields, and easy workup. All structures of newly prepared compounds were confirmed by analytical and spectral data.     

An Efficient Synthesis of 3‐(3‐benzyl‐2‐(phenylimino)‐2,3‐dihydrothiazol‐4‐yl)‐6‐methyl‐4‐(2‐oxo‐2‐phenylethoxy)‐3,4‐dihydro‐2H‐pyran‐2‐one Derivatives via Multi‐Component Approach

An easy, highly efficient and a new convenient one‐pot, two‐step approach to the synthesis of 3‐(3‐benzyl‐2‐(phenylimino)‐2,3‐dihydrothiazol‐4‐yl)‐6‐methyl‐4‐(2‐oxo‐2‐phenylethoxy)‐3,4‐dihydro‐2H‐pyran‐2‐one is described. These compounds were synthesized from 3‐(3‐benzyl‐2‐(phenylimino)‐2,3‐dihydrothiazol‐4‐yl)‐4‐hydroxy‐6‐methyl‐3,4‐dihydro‐2H‐pyran‐2‐one and α‐bromoketones in good yields. The compounds 4 were synthesized by a multi‐component reaction between 1 , 2 , and 3 and the prominent features of this protocol are mild reaction conditions, operation simplicity, and good to high yields of products.     

Prime ideals and automatic continuity problems for Banach algebras

Conditions are given for Banach algebras $\text{U}$ and commutative Banach algebras $\text{B}$ which insure that every homomorphism v from $\text{U}$ into $\text{B}$ is continuous. Similar results are obtained for derivations which either map the algebra $\text{U}$ into itself or map the algebra into a suitable $\text{U}$-module.     

A model for FL and R = FL/FT at low x and low Q2

A model for the longitudinal structure function F_L at low x and low Q² is presented, which includes the kinematical constraint F_L ～ Q⁴ as Q² → 0. It is based on the photon-gluon fusion mechanism suitably extrapolated to the region of low Q². The contribution of quarks having limited transverse momentum is treated phenomenologically assuming that it is described by the soft pomeron exchange mechanism. The ratio R = F_L/(F₂ ? F_L), with the F₂ appropriately extrapolated to the region of low Q², is also discussed.     

Misiurewicz parameters in the exponential family

A complex exponential map is said to be Misiurewicz if the forward trajectory of the asymptotic value 0 lies in the Julia set and is bounded. We prove that the set of Misiurewicz parameters in the exponential family ${\lambda\exp(z),\lambda\in\mathbb{C}{\setminus}\{0\}}$ , has the Lebesgue measure zero.
