Rate constants for the reaction of ethyl bromoacetate with three series of substituted naphthoate ions have been measured in an acetone-water mixture (90% v/v). Using σ p values rate constants at 30o correlate well with the Hammett equation yielding ρ=−0.54, −0.19 and −0.25 for (4,1−), (6,1−) and (6,2−) series, respectively. Comparison of these ρ values with those of the reaction of phenacyl bromide reveals the failure of the reactivity-selectivity principle RSP in these reactions. Failure of RSP has been explained in terms of isoselective temperature.  相似文献

A study of binary, CaBr2–CaHBr system was carried out by differential thermal analysis (DTA), covering the composition range from 100 % CaBr2 to 100 % CaHBr between room temperature and 800 °C. From DTA results, the contour of solidus and liquidus temperatures with composition is plotted and the phase diagram of CaBr2–CaHBr system is constructed. The system shows an eutectic reaction at 576 °C and the eutectic composition is 79.6 mol% CaBr2. Co-existing phases in different phase fields are characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis.  相似文献

Kinetics of chlorination of substituted phenols with a particular emphasis on p-nitrophenol (PNP) have been extensively studied using chloramine T (CAT). The effect of added mineral acids, neutral salts, and chloride have been investigated in detail. In aqueous acetic acid at high acidities the reactive phenols follow a zero-order process, while PNP or the disubstituted derivatives give a fractional-order dependence on substrate concentration. The concentration dependence of rate with respect to PNP, the chlorinating agent, and acid reveals the rate law 1/kobs versus 1/[PNP] gave a straight line with a finite intercept. In aqueous dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) the reaction shows a second-order dependence on CAT and a first-order dependence on PNP in the case of DMF and a slight increment in order in DMSO. Addition of water increases the rate both in aqueous acetic acid and in dipolar aprotic solvents such as DMF and DMSO. The order of the reaction with respect to CAT is found to be dependent on pH as well as the reactivity of the phenols. In buffered acetic acid medium a second-order dependence on CAT was followed up to pH 7. The rate variations with temperature in the range of 30°¨Dot;50°C have been studied for all the substituted phenols, and the respective activation parameters have been calculated. The empirical rate law is accounted for by a mechanism involving species generated from CAT complexing PNP. The electrochemical synthesis of silver nanoparticles (nano‐Ag) has been successfully carried out on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and indium tin oxide electrode (ITO) using 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (BMT) as green electrolytes. Further the electrodeposited nano‐Ag modified ITO electrode has been examined using atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X‐ray diffraction studies (XRD). The electrodeposited Ag nanoparticles on ITO were found in the size range of 5 to 35 nm. The nano‐Ag film modified GCE was further coated with nafion (Nf) and BMT (1 : 1 ratio) mixture and found to be stable in BMT and in pH 7 phosphate buffer solution (PBS). The nano‐Ag/BMT‐Nf film modified GCE successfully applied for the oxygen reduction reaction in neutral pH (pH 7.0 PBS). The proposed film modified GCE successfully reduces the over potential and show well defined reduction peaks for the detection of dissolved oxygen using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and rotating disc voltammetry (RDE). The film also applied for the detection of dissolved oxygen using electrochemical impedance spectroscopic studies (EIS).  相似文献

In this paper we make a detailed comparison of the thermoelectric properties of quantum dot superlattices with those of equivalently doped bulk material and show that a major contribution to the enhancement of the figure of merit comes from the increase of the thermoelectric power over that of bulk, in addition to the lattice thermal conductivity reduction in quantum dot superlattices. Although some polyphenols are known to possess anticancer activity against different cancer cell lines through induction of apoptosis, the mode of antiproliferative effect of ethyl gallate against human oral squamous carcinoma cell line KB was not studied until now. Therefore, the antiproliferative effect of ethyl gallate was evaluated by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay in comparison with the reference drug paclitaxel. Generation of reactive oxygen species, mitochondrial membrane potential loss, DNA damage and apoptosis were determined using 2,7-diacetyldichlorofluorescein fluorescence, uptake of rhodamine-123 by mitochondria, comet assay and acridine orange/ethidium bromide dual-dye staining method. Both ethyl gallate and paclitaxel exhibited cytotoxicity in a dose-dependent manner. The 50% inhibitory concentration for ethyl gallate was 30 and 20 μg/mL for paclitaxel. A volume of 50 μg/mL of ethyl gallate was found to be significantly effective (P < 0.05) in controlling the cancer cell proliferation leading to acute apoptosis.  相似文献

Preanodized screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) has been utilized for the detection of propofol. Here the preanodized SPCE possess the specific functional groups which help the detection and determination of propofol. The proposed SPCE shows a clear oxidation peak for the detection of propofol in pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solutions. Interestingly, it shows a well-defined individual oxidation peak for the detection of propofol in the presence interferences (mixture of ascorbic acid, dopamine, and uric acid). This type of pretreated SPCE successfully enhances the electrooxidation current and overcomes the interference effects and clearly exhibits the signals for the propofol detection using cyclic voltammetry and flow injection analysis techniques. The preanodized SPCE shows the electrooxidation signals for the propofol detection in the linear range of 0.09 to 0.90 μM, respectively. Further, the sensitivity of the proposed electrode for the propofol detection is found to be 3.6 μA μM−1.  相似文献
