The aim of the present study was to improve the compatibility in blends of natural rubber (NR) and polyamide 12 (PA12) by grafting NR with hydrophilic monomer, diacetone acrylamide (DAAM), via seeded emulsion polymerization. The increase in polarity of NR after grafting modification was confirmed by a considerable increase in the polar component of its surface energy. Blends of graft copolymers of NR and poly(diacetone acrylamide) prepared using 10 wt% of DAAM (NR‐g‐PDAAM10) and PA12 were prepared at a 60/40 blend ratio (wt%) using simple blend and dynamic vulcanization techniques. The mechanical and rheological properties of the resulting blends were subsequently investigated and compared with those of the corresponding blends based on unmodified NR. The results show that dynamic vulcanization led to a significant increase in both mechanical and rheological properties of the blends. It was also observed that the dynamically cured NR‐g‐PDAAM10/PA12 blend had smaller particle size of vulcanized rubber dispersed in the PA12 matrix than observed for the dynamically cured NR/PA12 blend. This is due to the compatibilizing effect of DAAM groups present in NR‐g‐PDAAM10 molecule, which decreases the interfacial tension between the two polymeric phases. Therefore, it can be stated that the interfacial adhesion between NR and PA12 was improved by the presence of DAAM groups in NR molecule. This was reflected in the higher tensile properties observed in the dynamically cured NR‐g‐PDAAM10/PA12 blend. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

This study introduces a merlinoite synthesized from sugarcane bagasse ash (SBA) and kaolin and evaluates its application as an adsorbent to remove lead from wastewater. The synthesis was performed via the hydrothermal method, and optimal conditions were determined. The adsorption of Pb by merlinoite was also optimized. Determination of the Pb2+ remaining in the aqueous solution was determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Adsorption isotherms were mainly studied using the Langmuir and Freundlich models. The Langmuir model showed the highest consistency for Pb adsorption on merlinoite, yielding a high correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9997 and a maximum adsorption capacity (qmax) of 322.58 mg/g. The kinetics of the adsorption process were best described by a pseudo-second-order model. Thermodynamic studies carried out at different temperatures established that the adsorption reaction was spontaneous and endothermic. The results of this study show that merlinoite synthesized from kaolinite and SBA is an excellent candidate for utilization as a high-performance adsorbent for lead removal from wastewater. 相似文献

This Letter focuses on the master-slave synchronization problem of the unified chaotic systems. Based on Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation, a simple linear feedback control law is obtained to make the state of two identical unified chaotic systems asymptotically synchronized. Based on the theory of stabilization of fractional-order LTI interval systems, a simple controller for stabilization of a class of fractional-order chaotic systems is proposed in this paper. We consider the structure of the chaotic systems as fractional-order LTI interval systems due to the limited amplitude of chaotic trajectories. We introduce a simple feedback controller for the interval system and then, based on a recently established theorem for stabilization of interval systems, we reach to a linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem. Solving the LMI yields an appropriate decoupling feedback control law which suffices to bring the chaotic trajectories to the origin. Several illustrative examples are given which show the effectiveness of the method. 相似文献

A bismuth oxyiodide (BiOI) photocatalyst with excellent sunlight-driven performance was synthesized by a solvothermal route without the addition of surfactants or capping agents. The prepared photocatalyst exhibited a tetragonal phase with an energy band gap of 2.15 eV. The efficiency of the photocatalyst was elucidated by monitoring the photodegradation of organic dyes and antibiotics. The BiOI photocatalyst provided a 95% removal of norfloxacin (NOR) antibiotics under visible light illumination. Interestingly, the complete removal of Rhodamine B (RhB) dye was achieved after 80 min of natural sunlight irradiation. The photodegradation reaction followed the first-order reaction. Both photo-generated holes and electrons play vital roles in the photodegradation of the pollutant. The BiOI photocatalyst remains stable and still shows a high efficiency even after the fifth run. This confirms the great cycling ability and high structural stability of the photocatalyst. The prepared BiOI catalyst, with a high surface area of 118 m2 g−1, can act as an excellent adsorbent as well. The synergistic effect based on both adsorption and photocatalysis is a key factor in achieving a very high removal efficiency. The photoactivity under sunlight is higher than that observed under visible light, supporting the practical use of the BiOI photocatalyst for the removal of organic pollutants in wastewater through the utilization of abundant solar energy. 相似文献
