Addition of secondary phosphines to N-vinylpyrroles

Secondary phosphines 1-3 react readily with N-vinylpyrroles 4 and 5 under radical initiation to give regiospecifically anti-Markovnikov adducts, diorganyl-2-(1-pyrrolyl)ethylphosphines 6a-d, highly reactive building blocks for organic synthesis, in 88-91% yields.     

Pyrroles from ketoximes and acetylene. 23. 2-(1-naphthyl)- and 2-(2-naphthyl)pyrroles and their 1-vinyl derivatives

2-(1-Naphthyl)- and 2-(2-naphthyl)pyrroles and their 1-vinyl derivatives were synthesized in 22–64% yields by the reaction of 1- and 2-acetylnaphthalene oximes with acetylene at both atmospheric pressure and elevated pressures in an alkali metal hydroxide-dimethyl sulfoxide system.See [1] for communication 22.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 10, pp. 1351–1353, October, 1982.     

3x-pyrrolizin-3-ones

Condensation of pyrrole-2-dithiocarboxylates with CH acids containing ester groups, in the KOH-DMSO system, was used to prepare previously unknown 1-alkylthio-3H pyrrolizin-3-ones. The latter, treated with secondary amines, are readily converted to the corresponding 1-amino derivatives.     

Easy α- to β-migration of an enol moiety on a pyrrole ring

Functionalized pyrrolic enols, 2-(2,2-dicyano-1-hydroxyethenyl)-1-methylpyrroles, synthesized from 2-ethenylpyrroles by a nucleophilic SEt-OH exchange, upon heating (75-142 °C) are readily rearranged to their 3-isomers in near to quantitative yield. The inter or intramolecular auto-protonation of a pyrrole ring by the acidic enol hydroxyl to form a mesomeric pyrrolium cation or zwitterion is suggested to be a key step in the rearrangement.     

Strong intramolecular hydrogen bond N—H...O in 2-(2-acyl-1-phenylethenyl)-5-phenylpyrroles

The molecular structure of 2-(2-benzoyl-1-phenylethenyl)-5-phenylpyrrole and 2-(2-furoyl-1-phenylethenyl)-5-phenylpyrrole was studied by X-ray diffraction analysis at 110 K and quantum chemistry methods (B3LYP/6-31G*). In the crystalline state, both compounds have cyclic structures closed by strong intramolecular hydrogen bond N—H...O. Canonic zwitterionic structure contributes largely to the ground state of the molecules. This is probably due to synergism of the H-bonding and -electron interactions.     

3-H-pyrrolizin-3-ones

Previously unknown 1-alkylthio-3H-pyrrolizin-3-ones have been obtained by the condensation of pyrrole-2-dithiocarboxylates with CH acids containing ester groupings in the KOH-DMSO system. Expedient Strategy for the Synthesis of 5-Acylethynylpyrrole-2-carbaldehydes

5-Acylethynylpyrrole-2-carbaldehydes have been synthesized from the protected pyrrole-2-carbaldehydes by their transition-metal-free topochemical mechanoactivated ethynylation with acylbromoacetylenes in a solid Al₂O₃ medium (room temperature, 6 h, 41–54% yields).     

Synthesis of 3-[5-(biphenyl-4-yl)pyrrol-2-yl]-1-phenylprop-2-yn-1-ones by palladium-free cross-coupling between pyrroles and haloalkynes on aluminum oxide

Cross-coupling of 2-(biphenyl-4-yl)pyrroles derived from 1-(biphenyl-4-yl)ethanone oximes and acetylene with 3-bromo-1-phenylprop-2-yn-1-one on aluminum oxide gave 3-[5-(biphe-nyl-4-yl)pyrrol-2-yl]-1-phenylprop-2-yn-1-ones in 35–46% yields.
