Synthesis and Structure of Metal Complexes of 1-(1-R-3-Methylpyrazole-5-onilidene-4)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline Derivatives

Twenty new complexes were synthesized by reacting Co(II), Cu(II), Zn, Cr(III), Fe(III), Cd and Ag salts with 3,3-dimethyl-1-(3-methylpyrazole-5-onilidene-4)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (L¹), spiro{cyclohexane-1,3"-[1-(1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazole-5-onilidene-4)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline]} (L²), and 3,3-dimethyl-1-(1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazole-5-onilidene-4)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (L³). These compounds were studied by IR and electronic absorption spectroscopy. The type of coordination of their ligands was discussed on the basis of the results obtained and X-ray diffraction data for L³ and [CuL₂ ² Cl₂] · 2L² obtained previously.

Azines of the Isoquinoline Series: III. Reactions of Substituted 1-Hydrazono-3,4-dihydroisoquinolines with Dicarbonyl Compounds

3,3-Dimethyl-1-hydrazono-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives react with benzil in 1 : 1 or 2 : 1 ratio to give the corresponding benzil monohydrazones. Diacetyl under the same conditions forms dihydrazones. Enolizing 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds form with 3,3-dimethyl-1-hydrazono-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives mixtures of mono- and dihydrazones. Dehydracetic acid forms monohydrazones at the exochain carbonyl group.     

Synthesis of pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline hydrazones and oximes

Synthesis,structure, and physico-chemical properties of 3-methyl and 3,3-dimethyl derivatives of l-(4′,4′-dimethyl-2′,6′-dioxocyclohex-1′-yl)-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline

3,3-Dimethyl- and 3-methyl-1-(4,4-dimethyl-2,6-dioxocyclohex-1-yl)-3,4-dihydroisoquinolines have been synthesized. Crystal and molecular structures of the 3,3-dimethyl derivative have been determined. In the crystalline state this compound exists as a tautomeric form where a hydrogen atom is located at the N atom of the dihydroisoquinoline fragment of the molecule. The tautomeric equilibrium does not shift noticeably in solutions, as shown by IR, UV, and NMR spectroscopy.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Synthesis of 1-substituted-3,3-dimethyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolines

Heterocyclization of 1,1-dicyano-2-(trifluoromethyl)ethylenes with 1,3,3-trimethyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline and its derivatives

1,3,3-Trimethyl-3,4-dihydroisoquinolines react with 1,1-dicyano-2,2-bis(trifluoromethyl)ethylene to give 4-amino-6,6-dimethyl-2,2-bis(trifluoromethyl)-3-cyano-6,7-dihydro-2H-benzo[a]quinolizines. The reaction of 3,3-dimethyl-1-cyanomethylidene-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline and the methyl ester of 3,3-dicyano-2-(trifluoromethyl)acrylic acid leads to 5,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-(trifluoromethyl)-2-(dicyanomethyl)-2,3,5,6-tetrahydropyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline.A. Synthesis, Crystalline Structure, and Spectra of 3,3-Dimethyl-1-(3-methyl-1-phenylpyrazol-5-onylidene-4)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline

3,3-Dimethyl-1-(3-methyl-1-phenylpyrazol-5-onylidene-4)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline has been synthesized and its crystalline and molecular structures determined. It was found by IR and electronic absorption spectroscopic methods that the structure of this compound is not changed in solutions.
