Fluorination reactions are essential to modern medicinal chemistry, thus providing a means to block site‐selective metabolic degradation of drugs and access radiotracers for positron emission tomography imaging. Despite current sophistication in fluorination reagents and processes, the fluorination of unactivated C? H bonds remains a significant challenge. Reported herein is a convenient and economic process for direct fluorination of unactivated C? H bonds that exploits the hydrogen abstracting ability of a decatungstate photocatalyst in combination with the mild fluorine atom transfer reagent N‐fluorobenzenesulfonimide. This operationally straightforward reaction provides direct access to a wide range of fluorinated organic molecules, including structurally complex natural products, acyl fluorides, and fluorinated amino acid derivatives. 相似文献

The spin–spin interactions between chiral molecules and ferromagnetic metals were found to be strongly affected by the chiral induced spin selectivity effect. Previous works unraveled two complementary phenomena: magnetization reorientation of ferromagnetic thin film upon adsorption of chiral molecules and different interaction rate of opposite enantiomers with a magnetic substrate. These phenomena were all observed when the easy axis of the ferromagnet was out of plane. In this work, the effects of the ferromagnetic easy axis direction, on both the chiral molecular monolayer tilt angle and the magnetization reorientation of the magnetic substrate, are studied using magnetic force microscopy. We have also studied the effect of an applied external magnetic field during the adsorption process. Our results show a clear correlation between the ferromagnetic layer easy axis direction and the tilt angle of the bonded molecules. This tilt angle was found to be larger for an in plane easy axis as compared to an out of plane easy axis. Adsorption under external magnetic field shows that magnetization reorientation occurs also after the adsorption event. These findings show that the interaction between chiral molecules and ferromagnetic layers stabilizes the magnetic reorientation, even after the adsorption, and strongly depends on the anisotropy of the magnetic substrate. This unique behavior is important for developing enantiomer separation techniques using magnetic substrates. 相似文献

The Local Systemic Change initiative of the National Science Foundation supports projects focusing primarily on teacher enhancement through extensive professional development and the use of standards‐based curriculum materials. The underlying rationale is that the effective use of such materials will ultimately result in enhanced student learning. However, the research base regarding the impact of these efforts on student learning is rather lean. This paper describes the results of a curriculum‐aligned assessment comprising selected items from the Third International Mathematics and Science Study. The assessment was administered to fifth graders involved in a Local Systemic Change project to address the following questions: How does the performance of students involved in the project compare nationally and internationally? and Does length of involvement in the project make a difference in student performance? Additional evidence to relate student outcomes to the project's systemic change efforts are provided. 相似文献

CdSe/ZnS QDs enable the optical probing of the biocatalytic oxidation of tyrosine derivatives and of the scission of peptides by thrombin. CdSe/ZnS QDs were modified with tyrosine methyl ester or with a tyrosine-containing peptide. The tyrosine units were reacted with tyrosinase/O2 to yield the respective l-DOPA and quinone derivatives. The luminescence of QDs modified by the enzyme-generated quinone units is quenched. The quinone-functionalized peptide associated with the QDs was cleaved by thrombin, a process that restored the luminescence of the QDs. 相似文献

Given a graph G and positive integers B and W, the BWC problem asks about the existence of a coloring of G, with B black and W white vertices, such that there is no edge between a black and a white vertex. We suggest a heuristic, based on tabu search, which yields quite good results for this problem. We compare the performance of our algorithm to that of several other known heuristics, and also to what one might expect based on some theoretical results we obtained for the checked graphs. 相似文献

The "gothic" style of harp was popular across most of Europe from the late medieval period to the Renaissance. These harps have a one-piece, longitudinally oriented hardwood soundboard, as opposed to the transverse-oriented bonded softwood structure on a modern instrument. In addition, the one-piece back is flexible, whereas the back of a modern instrument is a rigid molded shell. To study the gothic harp, one was constructed from plans created by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts from a late German model in their collection. The vibrational behaviors of the soundboard and soundbox were measured at various stages of construction. The completed instrument was subjected to modal analysis and radiativity measurements. The sound radiation is dominated by two breathing modes at 188 and 273 Hz, each with strong motion of the back, and modes around 350 Hz. Taken together, these modes function like the A0/T1 resonance pairs seen in the soundboxes of other instruments, and a comparison is made with the guitar. Also observed is that as the frequency increases, radiation is emitted from higher up the soundboard, and from higher soundholes. This feature has been observed in other harps, and is a consequence of the harp family's unique geometry. 相似文献

The formation of oscillons in a synchronously oscillating background is studied in the context of both damped and self-exciting oscillatory media. Using the forced complex Ginzburg-Landau equation we show that such states bifurcate from finite amplitude homogenous states near the 2:1 resonance boundary. In each case we identify a region in parameter space containing a finite multiplicity of coexisting stable oscillons with different structure. Stable time-periodic monotonic and nonmonotonic frontlike states are present in an overlapping region. Both types of structure are related to the presence of a Maxwell point between the zero and finite amplitude homogeneous states. 相似文献
