The weakly pinned single crystals of the hexagonal 2H-NbSe2 compound have emerged as prototypes for determining and characterizing the phase boundaries of the possible order-disorder transformations in the vortex matter. We present here a status report based on the ac and dc magnetization measurements of the peak effect phenomenon in three crystals of 2H-NbSe2, in which the critical current densities vary over two orders of magnitude. We sketch the generic vortex phase diagram of a weakly pinned superconductor, which also utilizes theoretical proposals. We also establish the connection between the metastability effects and pinning.  相似文献

In subnormal glow discharge under d.c. excitation at different pressure in a varying transverse magnetic field (0 to 30 G) some measurements have been carried out for various initial average tube currents. The voltage across the discharge increases and average tube current and residual current decreases in the magnetic field. With the help of Beckman’s expression [4] for the axial field and the electron density distribution in a transverse magnetic field the observed variation of current and voltage can be satisfactorily explained. The variation of axial electric field with transverse magnetic field can be represented to a fair degree of accuracy by the derived equation. The behaviour of residual current with magnetic field has been observed in these oscillations.  相似文献

An integral equation formulation for buoyancy-driven convection problems is developed and illustrated. Buoyancy-driven convection in a bounded cylindrical geometry with a free surface is studied for a range of aspect ratios and Nusselt numbers. The critical Rayleigh number, the nature of the cellular motion, and the heat transfer enhancement are computed using linear theory. Green's functions are used to convert the linear problem into linear Fredholm integral equations. Theorems are proved which establish the properties of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the linear integral operator which appears in these equations.  相似文献

8-Iodo-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane (7) was prepared in three steps starting from decaborane-14 with 20% overall yield. In the presence of nucleophiles, compound 7 undergoes selective removal of the boron vertex in the position para to the iodine substituent to form the anionic nido-carborane 1-iodo-7,8-dicarba-nido-undecaborate. Capping of the corresponding dicarbollide dianion with BI(3) led to formation of the new carborane, 3,10-diiodo-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane (15). The same dicarbollide dianion reacts with cobalt and nickel acetylacetonates in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran to form the corresponding bis(dicarbollide) complexes with excellent yields. All compounds were characterized by multinuclear NMR and high-resolution mass spectroscopy. Structures of 2-iododecaborane (2), 8-iodo-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane (7), 1-ethoxycarbonyl-8-iodo-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane (10), cesium 1-iodo-7,8-dicarba-nido-undecaborate (13), 3,10-diiodo-1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaborane (15), and cesium 3,3'-commo-(10-iodo-1,2-dicarba-3-cobalta-closo-dodecaborane)-(10'-iodo-1',2'-dicarba-3'-cobalta-closo-dodecaborane) (16) were established by X-ray analysis of single crystals.  相似文献

Capillary electrpphoresis (CE)/electrochemical detection (EC) for the simultane-ous determination of hydrazine and isoniazid has been developed.The electrochemical method uses a novel modified electrode dispersed with ultrafine platinum particles on the surface of a 30μm carbon fiber microelectrode.The unique characteristic of the Pt-particles modified carbon fiber microelectrode is its excellent stability.The current measurement for hydrazine is more sensitive than that of isoniazid.Selective determination of trace amount of free hydrazine in isoniazid and its formulation can be achieved at applied potential of 0.5V.  相似文献

Rigid camouflaged carborarods constructed from the corresponding C,C'-diethynyl derivatives of B-decamethyl-1,12-dicarbadodecaborane(12) (6) and B-octamethyl-1,7-dicarbadodecaborane(12) (48) have been synthesized by largely conventional organic transformations. These carborarods are the longest discrete rod species available by this method in which B-methylated p-carborane and m-carborane cages are linked through their carbon vertices by using butadiynylene moieties. They exhibit enhanced solubility in common organic solvents relative to all other presently known carborane-based rigid-rod molecules. The oxidative coupling of bis(ethynyl) derivatives of 6 generates oligomers containing, on average, 16 carborane modules. The structural characterization of the corresponding dimeric species revealed that the carborarods possess a sinusoidal chain distortion in the solid state. The stereoelectronic properties of these and related model carborarods were evaluated by using molecular dimensions as a monitor for the comparison of computational and experimental methods. In addition, the effect of exhaustive B-methylation of 12- and 10-vertex para-carborane cages in a series of model C,C'-diethynyl derivatives was similarly investigated by computational and structural studies. As expected, a correlation of intercage C--C bond lengths with cage size was observed and was attributed to hybridization effects. B-Permethylation had no significant structural effect with either 10- or 12-vertex cage derivatives. Relative to unsubstituted compounds, thermal and chemical stabilities of B-permethylated derivatives were increased through the operation of a steric "bumper-car" process, and solubilities in organic solvents were enhanced. The formation of linear, sterically encumbered platina-carborarods using ethynyl derivatives of 6 as precursors is described.  相似文献

Using a novel differential magneto-optical imaging technique we investigate the phenomenon of vortex lattice melting in crystals of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 (BSCCO). The images of melting reveal complex patterns in the formation and evolution of the vortex solid-liquid interface with varying field (H)/temperature (T). We believe that the complex melting patterns are due to a random distribution of material disorder/inhomogeneities across the sample, which create fluctuations in the local melting temperature or field value. To study the fluctuations in the local melting temperature/field, we have constructed maps of the melting landscape T m(H, r), viz., the melting temperature (T m) at a given location (r) in the sample at a given field (H). A study of these melting landscapes reveals an unexpected feature: the melting landscape is not fixed, but changes rather dramatically with varying field and temperature along the melting line. It is concluded that the changes in both the scale and shape of the landscape result from the competing contributions of different types of quenched disorder which have opposite effects on the local melting transition.  相似文献

Thermal decomposition of magnesium borohydride, Mg(BH(4))(2), in the solid state was studied by a combination of PCT, TGA/MS and NMR spectroscopy. Dehydrogenation of Mg(BH(4))(2) at 200 °C en vacuo results in the highly selective formation of magnesium triborane, Mg(B(3)H(8))(2). This process is reversible at 250 °C under 120 atm H(2). Dehydrogenation at higher temperature, >300 °C under a constant argon flow of 1 atm, produces a complex mixture of polyborane species. A borohydride condensation mechanism involving metal hydride formation is proposed.  相似文献

The syntheses of a series of novel ester-linked derivatives of the icosahedral [closo-B12(OH)12]2- boron cluster (closomer esters) are described using several synthetic methods. The reaction of bis(tetrabutylammonium)-closo-dodecahydroxy-dodecaborate, [NBu4]2 1, with carboxylic acid chlorides and anhydrides, vinyl esters with a Y5(OiPr)13O catalyst and 1,1'-carbonyldiimidazole-activated carboxylic acids yields the corresponding dianionic dodeca-ester closomers. The method using 1,1'-carbonyldiimidazole-activated carboxylic acids may be employed as a general synthetic strategy. The use of elevated reaction temperatures, achievable under pressure, to expedite syntheses is described. An attractive methodology using immobilized scavenger reagents for the expeditious purification of the closomer esters was employed. The developed methodology is compatible with a variety of peripheral functional groups attached to the termini of densely packed, carboxylate ester-linked radial arms bonded to the icosahedral borane surface. A closomer ester having twelve terminal amino groups was prepared, and without isolation, fully acetylated in good yield.  相似文献
