Tertiary N-ethylamines were converted into amide derivatives by reactions with sulfur monochloride and DABCO at 0 °C. It is well-known that some aromatic anions have the ability to induce viscoelastic transformation in aqueous solutions of cationic surfactants even at added salt concentrations as low as 10-20 mM. This behavior is associated with the formation of an entangled network of elongated micelles. However, the effect of aromatic ring substituents on the anion's ability to promote rapid micelle growth is not well-understood. We have performed ab initio calculations of the carbonyl group rotation barriers in a series of substituted benzoate and naphthoate anions at the MP2/STO-3G level of theory. It was found that aromatic carboxylates, known to be particularly effective in causing sphere-rod transition in cationic micelles, preferably adopt conformations with the COO(-) group in the same plane as the ring(s). This structural preference can be attributed to either intramolecular hydrogen bonding (o-hydroxyl derivatives) or pi-conjugation effects (m- and p-halogenated derivatives). In the former case the barrier to rotation is 40-50 kcal/mol, whereas in the latter case the threshold value is around 3.0 kcal/mol. Propensity for the planar conformation correlates with a greater depth of counterion penetration into the micelle surface, as inferred from NMR experiments, compared to the anions with less hindered carbonyl rotation. This points to favorable hydrophobic interactions between the surfactant methylene groups and the aromatic ring(s) of the anion as a possible explanation for the rapid growth of cationic micelles observed upon addition of certain aromatic carboxylates.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of some new polysulfur-nitrogen heterocycles by cycloaddition reactions to readily available tricyclic condensed 1,2-dithiole-3-thiones. Thus, treatment of bis[1,2]dithiolopyrrole ketothione 1 with diacyl acetylenes gave the bis-aducts 2a-d. On the other hand, cycloaddition of bis[1,2]dithiolo[1,4]thiazine ketothione 3 with 1 equiv of acyl or diacyl acetylenes gave [1,3]dithiolylidenyl[1,2]dithiolo[1,4]thiazines 4a-f in fair to high yields. Catalysis by scandium triflate was used in the reactions that implied the less reactive dipolarophiles. Treatment of 3 with 2 equiv of DBA gave the bis-aduct 5a, and reaction of 4c with DMAD gave the mixed bis-adduct 5b. Cyclic voltammetry of selected examples showed irreversible processes that were influenced by the electrochemical activity of peripheral groups bonded to the heterocyclic system.  相似文献

A generalized model of angular overlapping was used to analyze the magnetic properties of polynuclear complexes. The structural elements of these complexes contain planar binuclear fragments of the M(LR)2M type. The maximum ferromagnetism for the monoatomic bridges corresponds to = MLM, which is about 100°. Weak planar interactions between L and R displace the ferromagnetism maximum towards lower , while interactions shift it towards higher . In almost all cases, strong planar interactions (LLR 180°) are responsible for strong antiferromagnetism.  相似文献

Isostructural heterotrinuclear complexes (C5H5CrSCMe3)2S · M(CO)5 (II–IV) were isolated from photochemical reactions between the antiferromagnetic complex (C5H5CrSCMe3)2S (I) (with the Cr---Cr bond 2.689 Å long and with the exchange parameter −2J = 430 cm−1) and metal hexacarbonyls, M(CO)6, where M is Cr, Mo, or W. According to the X-ray structural data on III and IV, complex I plays the role of an unusual antiferromagnetic ligand L bound to M through the sulphide bridge (M–S 2.58(2) Å). Its geometry remains practically unaffected by the complex formation (the Cr---Cr bond length in III and IV is 2.73(1) Å). The exchange parameter, −2J (410, 440 and 440 cm−1 in II to IV, respectively), also shifts only insignificantly from that of I, which probably means that indirect exchange via the sulphide bridge in I is of minor importance compared with the direct Cr---Cr exchange. The Cr---Cr bond length may thus be correlated with the observed overall exchange coupling.  相似文献

We have studied the reactions of aromatic nitrile oxides with nitrogen monoxide and nitrogen sesquioxide. It was shown that nitrogen monoxide removes an oxygen atom from the nitrile oxide with formation of the corresponding nitrile and nitrogen dioxide.
