Four 2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline-3-carbaldehyde N-substituted thiosemicarbazone ligands (H(2)-OQtsc-R, where R = H, Me, Et or Ph) and their corresponding new copper(II) complexes [CuCl(2)(H(2)-OQtsc-H)]·2H(2)O (1), [CuCl(2)(H(2)-OQtsc-Me)]·2H(2)O (2), [CuCl(2)(H(2)-OQtsc-Et)(CH(3)OH)]Cl (3) and [CuCl(H-OQtsc-Ph)]·CH(3)OH (4) have been synthesized in order to correlate the effect of terminal N-substitution on coordination behaviour, structure and biological activity. Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the complexes 1, 2 and 3 have square pyramidal geometry around the central metal ion. In the complexes 1 and 2, the copper ion is coordinated by the ligand with ONS donor atoms, one chloride ion in apical position and the other chloride in the basal plane. Complex 3 consists of [CuCl(2)(H(2)-OQtsc-Et)(CH(3)OH)](+) cation and a chloride as counter ion. The copper ion is coordinated by the ligand with ONS donor atoms and by one chloride ion in the basal plane. One methanol molecule is bonded through its neutral oxygen in the apical position. Complex 4 is square planar with the ligand coordinating through uni-negative tridentate ONS(-) and by one chloride ion in the basal plane. The binding of complexes with lysozyme protein was carried out by fluorescence spectroscopy. Investigations of antioxidation properties showed that all the copper(II) complexes have strong radical scavenging properties. The cytotoxicity of the complexes 3 and 4 against NIH 3T3 and HeLa cell lines showed that synergy between the metal and ligands results in a significant enhancement in the cell death with IC(50) of ~10-40 μM. A size dependence of substitution at terminal N in the thiosemicarbazones on the biological activities of the complexes has been observed.  相似文献

We synthesized two new alternating polymers, namely P(Tt‐FQx) and P(Tt‐DFQx) , incorporating electron rich tri‐thiophene and electron deficient 6‐fluoroquinoxaline or 6,7‐difluoroquinoxaline derivatives. Both polymers P(Tt‐FQx) and P(Tt‐DFQx) exhibited high thermal stabilities and the estimated 5% weight loss temperatures are 425 and 460 °C, respectively. Polymers P(Tt‐FQx) and P(Tt‐DFQx) displayed intense absorption band between 450 and 700 nm with an optical band gap (Eg) of 1.78 and 1.80 eV, respectively. The determined highest occupied/lowest unoccupied molecular orbital's (HOMO/LUMO) of P(Tt‐DFQx) (?5.48 eV/?3.68 eV) are slightly deeper than those of P(Tt‐FQx) ( ?5.32 eV/?3.54 eV). The polymer solar cells fabricated with a device structure of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/ P(Tt‐FQx) or P(Tt‐DFQx) :PC70BM (1:1.5 wt %) + 3 vol % DIO/Al offered a maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 3.65% with an open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.59 V, a short‐circuit current (Jsc) of 10.65 mA/cm2 and fill factor (FF) of 59% for P(Tt‐FQx) ‐based device and a PCE of 4.36% with an Voc of 0.69 V, a Jsc of 9.92 mA/cm2, and FF of 63% for P(Tt‐DFQx) ‐based device. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The deposition and the subsequent decomposition of an organometallic precursor, (eta (3)-allyl)(eta (5)-cyclopentadienyl)palladium [Cp(allyl)Pd], on an organic surface exposed by self-assembled monolayers (SAM) was studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRRAS). The interfacial chemical reactions of the vapor-deposited metal precursor with the pendant thiol group of the SAMs made from oligophenyldithiols, which are either prepared directly (terphenyldimethyldithiol, TPDMT) or by a deprotection route from SAMs formed by a monoacylated derivative of biphenyldimethyldithiol (dep. BPDMAc-1) have been studied in detail. When the TPDMT-SAMs were exposed to Cp(allyl)Pd vapor, a Pd (2+)/allyl-terminated SAM surface was obtained (to a lower extent this was also the case for dep. BPDMAc-1 SAMs), which was stable against exposure to H 2 gas. Reduction to Pd (0) by H 2 was only observed when small amounts of Pd (0) were already present, for example, after prolonged exposure to the precursor. The catalytic activity of the small Pd (0) particles also caused a decomposition of the SAMs upon exposure to air.  相似文献

The binding of Hypocrellin B-TiO2 chelate with DNA has been studied by using absorption, steady state fluorescence, cyclic voltammetry, time resolved fluorescence and laser flash photolysis measurements. The experimental results show that the presence of TiO2 nanoparticles increases the binding of Hypocrellin B with DNA. The groove binding mode is confirmed by spectroscopic and docking studies. Laser flash photolysis studies confirm the presence of electrons in the conduction band of TiO2 which will produce active oxygen species and results in damage of DNA indicating the potential application of Hypocrellin B-TiO2 chelate in the field of photodynamic therapy (PDT).  相似文献

Many biological processes, such as stem cell differentiation, wound healing and development, involve dynamic interactions between cells and their microenvironment. The ability to control these dynamic processes in vitro would be potentially useful to fabricate tissue engineering constructs, study biological processes, and direct stem cell differentiation. In this paper, we used a parylene-C microstencil to develop two methods of creating patterned co-cultures using either static or dynamic conditions. In the static case, embryonic stem (ES) cells were co-cultured with fibroblasts or hepatocytes by using the reversible sealing of the stencil on the substrate. In the dynamic case, ES cells were co-cultured with NIH-3T3 fibroblasts and AML12 hepatocytes sequentially by engineering the surface properties of the stencil. In this approach, the top surface of the parylene-C stencil was initially treated with hyaluronic acid (HA) to reduce non-specific cell adhesion. The stencil was then sealed on a substrate and seeded with ES cells which adhered to the underlying substrate through the holes in the membrane. To switch the surface properties of the parylene-C stencils to cell adhesive, collagen was deposited on the parylene-C surfaces. Subsequently, a second cell type was seeded on the parylene-C stencils to form a patterned co-culture. This group of cells was removed by peeling off the parylene-C stencils, which enabled the patterning of a third cell type. Although the static patterned co-culture approach has been demonstrated previously with a variety of methods, layer-by-layer modification of microfabricated parylene-C stencils enables dynamic patterning of multiple cell types in sequence. Thus, this method is a promising approach to engineering the complexity of cell-cell interactions in tissue culture in a spatially and temporally regulated manner.  相似文献

Starting from 2,2′‐bipyridine dicarboxylic acid, two new (D –π–A)2 sensitizers, including m‐DA with the carboxyl anchoring group substituted meta to the donor‐bridge moiety and p‐DA with a para‐substituted anchoring group, were synthesized in order to evaluate the impact of the position of the anchoring group on the optical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties of dye‐sensitized solar cells. p‐DA exhibits red‐shifted absorption behavior compared to m‐DA, owing to the more efficiently extended π‐conjugation with para substitution. Both m‐DA and p‐DA are adsorbed on the mesoporous TiO2 surface by using both of their carboxylic acid groups in a bianchoring mode, which is confirmed through attenuated total reflectance FTIR analysis. Red‐shifted absorption of p‐DA assists the achievement of a red‐shifted incident photon‐to‐electron conversion efficiency and a higher short‐circuit current density than m‐DA. The photogenerated electron lifetime in TiO2 is also found to be higher for para substituted p‐DA than the meta‐substituted m‐DA, which results in a higher open‐circuit voltage. All of the results suggest that dicarboxyl‐2,2′‐bipyridine can be used as an acceptor for metal‐free organic sensitizers. However, the anchoring segments should be adjusted to the favorable position of the corresponding donor‐bridge moieties for better conjugation.  相似文献

Curing reactions of a new crosslinking agent, 1,3,5-tris(2-methylaziridinyl-1-methyl)benzene (TRIMAM) with carboxylterminated polybutadiene have been studied by dynamic differential thermal analysis and by IR spectroscopy. The crosslinking reactions are found to be faster for this new compound compared with the conventional tris-1-(2-methyl) axiridinyl phosphine oxide (MAPO).  相似文献

To explore the aptitude of 1,2,4‐oxadiazole‐based electron‐acceptor unit in polymer solar cell applications, we prepared four new polymers (P1–P4) containing 1,2,4‐oxadiazole moiety in their main chain and applied them to solar cell applications. Thermal, optical, and electrochemical properties of the polymers were studied using thermogravimetric, absorption, and cyclic voltammetry analysis, respectively. All four polymers showed high thermal stability (5% degradation temperature over 335 °C), and the optical band gaps were calculated to be 2.20, 1.72, 1.37, and 1.74 eV, respectively, from the onset wavelength of the film‐state absorption band. The energy levels of the polymers were found to be suitable for bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cell applications. The BHJ solar cells were prepared by using the synthesized polymers as a donor and PC71BM as an electron acceptor with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/polymer:PC71BM (1:3 wt %)/LiF/Al. One of the polymers was found to show the maximum power conversion efficiency of 1.33% with a Jsc of 4.95 mA/cm2, a Voc of 0.68 V, and a FF of 40%, measured using AM 1.5 G solar simulator at 100 mW/cm2 light illumination. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The application of a chiral ligand‐exchange column for the direct high‐performance liquid chromatographic enantioseparation of unusual β‐amino acids with a sodium N‐((R)‐2‐hydroxy‐1‐phenylethyl)‐N‐undecylaminoacetate‐Cu(II) complex as chiral selector is reported. The investigated amino acids were isoxazoline‐fused 2‐aminocyclopentanecarboxylic acid analogs. The chromatographic conditions were varied to achieve optimal separation. The effects of temperature were studied at constant mobile phase compositions in the temperature range 5–45°C, and thermodynamic parameters were calculated from plots of lnk or lnα versus 1/T. Δ(ΔH°) ranged from –2.3 to 2.2 kJ/mol, Δ(ΔS°) from –3.0 to 7.8 J mol?1 K?1 and –Δ(ΔG°) from 0.1 to 1.7 kJ/mol, and both enthalpy‐ and entropy‐controlled enantioseparations were observed. The latter was advantageous with regard to the shorter retention and greater selectivity at high temperature. Some mechanistic aspects of the chiral recognition process are discussed with respect to the structures of the analytes. The sequence of elution of the enantiomers was determined in all cases.  相似文献
