Analysis of iron storage proteins in chicken liver and spleen tissues in comparison with human liver ferritin by Mössbauer spectroscopy

Summary Characterization of iron storage proteins in liver and spleen from normal chicken and chicken with lymphoid leukemia in comparison with human liver ferritin were considered by M?ssbauer spectroscopy (preliminary results). Small differences in M?ssbauer hyperfine parameters for both normal and lymphoid leukemia chicken liver and spleen were observed. The value of quadrupole splitting for human liver ferritin was higher than those for chicken tissues. A decrease of iron content in lymphoid leukemia chicken tissues was also found, however, the reason of this fact (pathology or feeding) was not clear yet.     

Cherenkov counter for measuring the intensity of bunches extracted from the IHEP accelerator

The Cherenkov counter for measuring the numbers of protons in bunches extracted from the IHEP accelerator using a slow extraction system is described. The measurement range is from 1 to 10⁶ particle/bunch. The maximum bunch frequency is 6 · 10⁶ s^–1. Cherenkov light is measured by an XP 2020 photomultiplier. The results of measurements of the XP 2020 signal amplitude on the applied voltage, obtained using semiconductor light sources are presented. The data of counter calibration on the proton beam are discussed.

Chlorination of 2-aryl-5-benzylsulfanyl-1,3-oxazole-4-carbonitrile in aqueous acetic acid at 50–60°C afforded new 2-aryl-5-chloro-1,3-oxazole-4-carboxamides. The reactivity of the chlorine atom with respect to the N-, O-, and S-nucleophiles was investigated.
