We have numerically shown the existence of coupled wedge plasmons (CWPs) which propagates along a nano gap of a twin metal
wedge. The CWPs are formed by wedge plasmons which can interact with each other. The dispersion relations of the wavenumber,
propagation distance, and beam area of CWPs, are described and show that the characteristics of CWPs are similar to those
of wedge plasmons and of gap plasmons. We also propose a new plasmon waveguide composed of twin metal wedges with a nano gap. 相似文献

With a germanium detector array (Hyperball), we observed two gamma-ray peaks corresponding to the two transitions (5/2(+)-->1/2(+) and 3/2(+)-->1/2(+)) in the (9)(Lambda)Be hypernucleus which was produced by the 9Be(K-,pi(-)) reaction. The energies of the gamma rays are 3029 +/- 2 +/- 1 keV and 3060 +/- 2 +/- 1 keV. The energy difference was measured to be 31.4(+2.5)(-3.6) keV, which indicates a very small Lambda-spin-dependent spin-orbit force between a Lambda and a nucleon. This is the smallest level splitting by far ever measured in a hypernucleus. 相似文献

We demonstrate that approximately 100% transmission of a strongly localized channel plasmon polariton can be achieved through a sharp 90 degrees bend in a subwavelength waveguide in the form of a triangular groove on a metal surface--a feature that has previously been demonstrated only for photonic crystal waveguides, which do not provide subwavelength localization. Conditions for minimum reflection and radiative losses at the bend are investigated numerically by the finite-difference time-domain algorithm. Dissipation in the structure is demonstrated to be sufficiently low to ensure significant propagation distances (a number of wavelengths) of the localized plasmon in each of the arms of the bend. 相似文献

Background
Growth hormone (GH) plays an incompletely understood role in the development of the central nervous system (CNS). In this study, we use transgenic mice expressing a growth hormone antagonist (GHA) to explore the role of GH in regulating postnatal brain, spinal cord and body growth into adulthood. Grazing-angle scattering (GAS) is a type of Bragg scattering in slanted wide periodic gratings. It occurs when the diffracted
order satisfying the Bragg condition (scattered wave) propagates at a grazing angle to the grating boundaries. Previous research
has been concerned only with first-order GAS, which has been shown to be a highly unusual type of scattering characterised
by a strong resonant increase of amplitudes of the scattered and incident waves in the grating. In this paper, a rigorous
numerical study of second-order GAS is presented for the case of bulk TE electromagnetic waves in planar holographic gratings.
A highly unusual pattern of strong resonances in the grating, which is strongly different from that for first-order GAS, is
predicted, described, and discussed. Physical interpretations of the predicted results are presented. In particular, a special
new type of eigenmodes in a slanted wide periodic grating with large amplitude is predicted. These eigenmodes are shown to
be guided by the grating alone without any conventional guiding effect in the structure. The typical field structure in such
eigenmodes is investigated and discussed.

Here, we demonstrate that efficient nano-optical couplers can be developed using closely spaced gap plasmon waveguides in
the form of two parallel nano-sized rectangular slots in a thin metal film or membrane. Using the rigorous numerical finite-difference
and finite element algorithms, we investigate the physical mechanisms of coupling between two neighboring gap plasmon waveguides
and determine typical coupling lengths for different structural parameters of the coupler. Special attention is focused onto
the analysis of the effect of such major coupler parameters, such as thickness of the metal film/membrane, slot width, and
separation between the plasmonic waveguides. Detailed physical interpretation of the obtained unusual dependencies of the
coupling length on slot width and film thickness is presented based upon the energy consideration. The obtained results will
be important for the optimization and experimental development of plasmonic sub-wavelength compact directional couplers and
other nano-optical devices for integrated nanophotonics. 相似文献

Large enhancements have been observed in the sub-barrier fusion cross sections for Ti+Ni systems in our previous studies.
Coupled channel calculations incorporating couplings to 2+ and 3− states failed to explain these enhancements completely. A possibilty of transfer channels contributing to the residual enhancements
had been suggested. In order to investigate the role of relevant transfer channels, measurements of one- and two-nucleon transfer
