Interaction of 4-aminobenzofurazan with aryldiazonium salts

The reaction of 4-aminobenzofurazan with aryldiazonium salts leads to the formation of 4-amino-5-aryl-azobenzofurazans and 5-amino-2-aryl-4-nitroso-2H-benzotriazoles, products of the rearrangement of the initially formed 4-amino-7-(arylazo)benzofurazans. Oxidation of the benzofurazan as well as of the triazole derivatives gives 7-aryl-1,2,3-triazol[4,5-e]benzofurazans. Some Aspects of the Implementation of Scaling Quantum Mechanical Molecular Force Fields

Some features of software implementation of the Pulay scaling procedure are considered. The advantages of the single value decomposition method for maintaining well-conditionality of the scale factor determination problem are demonstrated. The necessity of using a rational number of scale factors is shown. The possibility of obtaining transferable scale factors with the Pulay method and thus predict the vibrational spectra of related compounds is emphasized.     

Thermodynamic properties of ternary systems: Calculation of standard enthalpies of solvation of triols, diols, and a series of their ethers in water-methanol mixed solvent

An equation for the standard enthalpy of solvation of a compound in a binary solvent is derived. The enthalpies of solvation in water-methanol mixtures are estimated for 1,3-propane-and 1,6-hexanediols, 1,2,4-butane-and 1,3,5-pentanetriols, 2-methoxy-and 2-propoxyethanols, and diethylene glycol. The enthalpy of solvation of 1,2-dimethoxyethane in the water-methanol mixed solvent is determined experimentally.     

Formation of Supersonic Zones and Local Separation Zones in Transonic Steady-State Flow Past Surface Roughness in the Free Interaction Regime

Within the framework of free interaction theory numerical methods are used to investigate the occurrence of supersonic zones with shocks in the outer inviscid region for flow past roughness in the lower viscous sublayer, with and without the formation of local separation zones.
