A laser scanning system for the measurement of facial surface morphology   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
A no contact system based on laser scanning, which records 20 000 facial surface coordinates with a dynamic resolution of approximately 0·9mm in 30s, has been developed for the study of facial changes following facial reconstructive surgery. Individual profiles are recorded with a resolution better than 0·5mm. The system is based on the analysis of the output from a video camera which obliquely views a laser line projected vertically onto the face. In order to sample the whole face, the subject sits on a chair which rotates at six degrees per second under computer control. Examples of applications of the system are given.  相似文献

Thermodynamic calculations and experimental studies have demonstrated that dissociation of natural phosphates in a low-temperature plasma involves partial calcium oxide evaporation. As a result, upon cooling gaseous products of the dissociated phosphate raw material, compounds containing condensed calcium phosphate are formed. The composition and properties of condensed calcium phosphates, which can be used as fertilizers, are discussed.  相似文献

High strength and low gas permeability cellulosic composites were produced using the papermaking technology with a commercial microfibrillated cellulose (MFC). The effect of blending MFC with hardwood fibers was compared to the direct refining of the fibers with and without polyamideamine-epichlorohydrin (PAE) addition. The addition of MFC, free or tethered, to pulp fibers combined with PAE can increase the dry strength and wet strength of cellulosic materials by an order of magnitude. Air permeability of the composites decreases by up to orders four of magnitude with MFC addition. The hypothesis that refining wood fibers can produce tethered MFC which provides equivalent strength properties but significant drainage benefits was proven. Furthermore, major benefits in paper formation uniformity (fiber distribution homogeneity) were achieved with refined fibers.  相似文献

The interaction between cellulose fibers in the presence of cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) was analyzed by rheology as a function of polyelectrolyte concentration, charge density, and molecular weight. CPAM was found to strongly influence the yield stress of cellulose suspensions; low doses of CPAM increased the yield stress, but at higher concentrations the yield stress declined. The charge density of the CPAM was the most significant factor in how yield stress responded to CPAM concentration; this effect was able to be normalized to a master curve by considering only the charged fraction of the polymer. The molecular weight of CPAM samples had some effect at high concentrations, but for lower CPAM doses the yield stress was independent of molecular weight over the range studied. The data suggest that CPAM modifies the interaction between cellulose surfaces via several mechanisms, with electrostatic interactions in the form of charge neutralization and charged patch formation dominating; polymer bridging and steric repulsion also influence the overall balance of forces between interacting cellulose fibers.  相似文献

Thermodynamic calculations of the plasma gasification process of carbonaceous wastes in air and steam ambient were carried out. A maximum yield of synthesis gas in such processes is predicted to be achieved at a temperature of 1600 K. On a specially developed plasma facility, plasma gasification experiments were performed for carbonaceous wastes. From the organic mass of carbonaceous waste and from its mineral mass, respectively, a high-calorific syngas and a neutral slag consisting predominantly of ferric carbide, calcium monosilicate, silica and iron, were obtained. A comparison between the experiment and the calculations has shown a good consistency between the data.  相似文献

We have measured the viscosity of suspensions of colloidal silica particles (d = 300 nm) and the properties of silica surfaces in solutions of a polymer consisting of zwitterionic monomer groups, poly(sulfobetaine methacrylate), polySBMA. This polymer has potential use in modifying surface properties because the polymer is net uncharged and therefore does not generate double-layer forces. The solubility of the polymer can be controlled and varies from poor to good by the addition of sodium chloride salt. Ellipsometry was used to demonstrate that polySBMA adsorbs to silica and exhibits an increase in surface excess at lower salt concentration, which is consistent with a smaller area per molecule at low salt concentration. Neutron reflectivity measurements show that the adsorbed polymer has a thickness of about 3.7 nm and is highly hydrated. The polymer can be used to exercise considerable control over suspension rheology. When silica particles are not completely covered in polymer, the suspension produces a highly viscous gel. Atomic force microscopy was used to show this is caused by bridging of polymer between the particles. At higher surface coverage, the polymer can produce either a high or very low viscosity slurry depending on the sodium chloride concentration. At high salt concentration, the suspension is stable, and the viscosity is lower. This is probably because the entrainment of many small ions renders the polymer film highly hydrophilic, producing repulsive surface forces and lubricating the flow of particles. At low salt concentrations, the polymer is barely soluble and more densely adsorbed. This produces less stable and more viscous solutions, which we attribute to attractive interactions between the adsorbed polymer layers.  相似文献
