For every integer ? ?? 2, we find elements x and y in the mapping class group of an appropriate orientable surface S, satisfying the Artin relation of length ?. That is, xyx ... =?yxy ..., where each side of the equality contains ? terms. By direct computations, we first find elements x and y in Mod(S) satisfying Artin relations of every even length ?? 8, and every odd length ???3. Then using the theory of Artin groups, we give two more alternative ways for finding Artin relations in Mod(S). The first provides Artin relations of every length ?? 3, while the second produces Artin relations of every even length ?? 6.  相似文献

Pluronic F68 is a nonionic, thermogelling block copolymer showing a high dehydration resistance during autoclaving due to its high cloud point (>100 °C). Tween 80 (with cloud point of 72.5 °C), is a polyoxyethylene-based cosurfactant, susceptible to temperature because of a decrease in its solubility by temperature increase. This study was done to explore whether or not, when compared with Tween 80, Pluronic F68 could be used blindly as a suitable cosurfactant for the preparation of terminally sterilized ocular submicron emulsions containing a lipid soluble drug, prednisolone acetate (PA). Various oils of variable viscosities were also tried. The results proved that no prediction can be made based on previously known physico-chemical properties alone and that emulsion stability depends on the contribution of the various emulsion components including: oil, surfactant and cosurfactant, in addition to the drug properties.  相似文献

The influence of water pH and cationic surfactant content on the interfacial properties and stability of an Algerian bitumen aqueous emulsion were investigated. While the stability was quantified by both the test-bottle method and size distribution measurements, the interfacial properties of the water-bitumen interface were assessed using interfacial tension measurements. Optical microscopy was also used to visualise the dispersed water droplets in the oil phase. The results showed that addition of the cationic surfactant at a concentration of 25 mmol L?1 in acidic water (pH 2) improves the bitumen emulsion stability and effectively decreases the interfacial tension.  相似文献

We report on the growth of Si on c(2 × 2) reconstructed LaAlO3(0 0 1) surfaces at high substrate temperature (700 °C) by molecular beam epitaxy. An initial Volmer-Weber mode is evidenced using reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED), X-ray photoelectron diffraction (XPD) and atomic force microscopy. After the deposition of a few monolayers, the islands coalesce. Using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, we demonstrate that Si islands exhibit an abrupt interface with the LaAlO3 substrate without formation of silicate or silica. Finally, combined RHEED and XPD measurements show the epitaxial growth of Si with a unique Si(0 0 1)//LaAlO3(0 0 1) and Si<1 0 0>//LAO<1 1 0> relationship.  相似文献

In many oil production sites water injection is used as a piston to push the crude out of the well. As the age of the field progresses, the ratio of water to oil produced increases. Agitation of a water and crude oil mixture may give stable water-in-oil emulsion in which the water remains dispersed for a long period of time. These emulsions can cause severe problems in production and transport processes since they normally possess high stability and viscosity. The most important water properties which may contribute to the emulsion stability include pH and additive content. In this study, we report on the effect of both, water pH and the presence of surfactant molecules (anionic, cationic or non-ionic) on the stability of an Algerian crude oil (Haoudh el Hamra well) aqueous emulsion prepared by a mechanical agitation procedure. The stability was followed by the test-bottle method to measure the resolved water separated from the emulsion, and optical microscopy to visualize the dispersed water droplets in the oil phase. The results of the effects of varying the aqueous-phase pH suggest that the neutral medium is more efficient than acidic or basic environment for stabilizing the emulsions. The addition of non-ionic surfactants has a better potential to improve crude oil emulsion stability with respect to both cationic and anionic surfactants which do not show any improvement in the oil/water phase compatibility.  相似文献
