Chronoamperometric studies in an ammonia citrate electrolyte for the deposition of a nickel-molybdenum alloy

Dependences of the current and the chemical composition of cathodic deposits on the electrolysis time are studied in an ammonia-citrate electrolyte for the deposition of a nickel-molybdenum alloy in potentiostatic conditions. At potentials less negative than ?0.93 V, no nickel-molybdenum alloy deposition occurs and in the course of electrolysis there is observed a decrease in the current, which is connected with the blocking of the electrode surface by the formed molybdenum oxides. In the region of potentials of deposition of a nickel-molybdenum alloy there is realized the following shape of a time dependence of the current. Within the first few seconds of the electrolysis process, the current somewhat decreases. Then there occurs its increase, which is connected with the alloy deposition on the cathode. In the course of electrolysis there occurs a decrease in the molybdenum content in the cathodic deposit.     

Stimulating effect of graphite admixture on hydrogen sorption-desorption properties of mechanically activated titanium powder

The effect of graphite admixture on hydrogen sorption-desorption properties of mechanically activated electron microscopy, temperature-programmed reaction, and temperature-programmed desorption techniques. The major effect of graphite addition was found to be the formation of microporous carbon matrix particles containing randomly distributed titanium particles only several nanometers in diameter. This powder architecture enhances hydrogen transport to the titanium surface without hindrances and promotes titanium-hydrogen interaction by modifying the titanium surface and subsurface layers with interstitial carbon atoms.     

Acid dimerization of N-vinyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindole

Reaction of N-vinyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindole with acids, the chlorides of iron, tin or titanium, or with organochlorosilanes leads to formation of 1-vinyl-2-[1-(4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindol-1-yl)ethyl]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindole.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 4, pp. 479–480, April, 1987.     

Sesquiterpene Lactones and Flavonoids from <Emphasis Type="Italic">Artemisia albida</Emphasis>

The five known lactones matricarin, austricin, canin, and achillin guaianolides and argolide germacranolide and the two flavonoids eupatilin and its 7-O-methyl ester were isolated for the first time from the aerial part of Artemisia albida Willd. Self-activated luminescence of zinc sulfide

The nature of the luminescence of zinc sulfide in the spectral range (360), 380–420 nm (SAL) at 80K is analyzed. It is shown that the appearance of SAL radiation is accompanied by additional absorption in the region (350) 365–370 nm at 80K. The low-temperature spectra of sphalerite, exposed to different radiation and subjected to different treatment, are studied. The multiband luminescence of the isoelectronic sulfur impurity in ZnO deposits in the region 383–640 nm is discussed. It is concluded that SAL luminescence is attributable to the localization of excitons in ZnS on clusters, whose formation precedes the precipitation of the ZnO·S phase. Tetrachlorosilane-Sodium Azide System in the Synthesis of Tetrazole-Containing Amino Acid Derivatives

Treatment of N-acetyl-(RS)-phenylalanine and N-acetyl-(RS)-leucine methyl esters with the system tetrachlorosilane-sodium azide leads to formation of tetrazole-containing amino acid derivatives. The latter can be converted into -substituted 5-methyl-1-tetrazolylacetic acids and the corresponding bis-tetrazoles.
