Synthesis and Structure of Mixed Phosphonium-iodonium Ylide

A mixed phosphonium-iodonium ylide, phenyliodoniumethoxycarbonylmethylenetriphenylphosphorane borofluoride, was synthesized. Its structure was established by means of X-ray diffraction analysis. Temperature dependence of ¹H, ¹³C, and ³¹P spectra of the ylide synthesized was investigated. A dynamic equilibrium between Z and E-isomers was observed.     

Stereochemistry of the synthesis of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocinnolines from aryldiazenium salts and olefins

It follows from the PMR spectra that the reaction of 1-methyl-, 1-phenyl-, 1-ethyl-,1-phenyl-, and 1,1-diphenyldiazenium salts with cis- and trans-d-styrenes, which leads to the corresponding 3-d-4-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocinnolines, takes place with retention of the configuration in the starting styrenes. The structure and sorption properties of gel films of bacterial cellulose were studied in its interaction with polyvinylpyrrolidone and silver nanoparticles stabilized by this compound.     

Three-component catalytic method for synthesis of α-amino phosphonates with the use of α-amino acids as amine component

Interaction of aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes and ketones with optically active L-α-amino acids or their esters in the three-component catalytic one-pot synthesis of α-aminophosphonates was studied. The corresponding α-amino phosphonates are formed in high yields as mixtures of diastereomers. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Coordination chemistry of 2,6-bis(diphenylphosphorylmethyl)-4-methylphenol

The trifunctional ligand, 2,6-bis(diphenylphosphorylmethyl)-4-methylphenol (L ₂), forms complexes with cerium(III) nitrate having a ligand to metal ratio of 1: 1, 2: 1, and 3: 1. The structures of these complexes in the solid state and in solution were studied by X-ray diffraction, IR and NMR (¹H and ³¹P) spectroscopy, and conformational analysis (molecular mechanics). The 2: 1 complexes of L ₂ with lanthanum(III) and neodymium(III) nitrates were synthesized and characterized. In all complexes, the neutral ligand is coordinated through both phosphoryl oxygen atoms. The hydroxy oxygen atom is coordinated only in some complexes, and the hydrogen atom of the hydroxy group is involved in hydrogen bonding. The compositions and structures of the resulting complexes depend on the method of synthesis and the nature of solvent. The ligand was found to undergo easy inner-sphere oxidation. The structure of one of the transformation products was established by X-ray diffraction. Unlike the coordinated ligand, the free ligand is very stable to oxidation.
