Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 has been synthesized using mechanical alloying method with two variables (milling time and ball-to-powder weight ratio (BPR)) were varied in order to study its effect on the magnetic properties of the material. The effects of these two variables were studied using XRD, SEM, TEM and later by impedance analyzer with the frequency range from 1 MHz to 1.8 GHz. The results obtained however show that there are no significant trends to relate the milling time and BPR with the permeability and losses of the material studied. After being sintered at 1150 °C, all the effects of alloying process seem to diminish.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: The interactions of p-cresol photocatalytic degradation components were studied by response surface methodology. The study was designed by central composite design using the irradiation time, pH, the amount of photocatalyst and the p-cresol concentration as variables. The design was performed to obtain photodegradation % as actual responses. The actual responses were fitted with linear, two factor interactions, cubic and [left-to-right mark] quadratic model to select an appropriate model. The selected model was validated by analysis of variance which provided evidences such as high F-value (845.09), very low P-value (<.0.0001), non-significant lack of fit, the coefficient of R-squared (R2 = 0.999), adjusted R-squared (Radj2 = 0.998), predicted R-squared (Rpred2 = 0.994) and the adequate precision (95.94). RESULTS: From the validated model demonstrated that the component had interaction with irradiation time under 180 min of the time while the interaction with pH was above pH 9. Moreover, photocatalyst and p-cresol had interaction at minimal amount of photocatalyst (< 0.8 g/L) and 100 mg/L p-cresol. CONCLUSION: These variables are interdependent and should be simultaneously considered during the photodegradation process, which is one of the advantages of the response surface methodology over the traditional laboratory method.  相似文献

Possible soaking-time effects on the magnetic and microstructural properties of polycrystalline samples of Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 have been studied. Nanosize powder produced by mechanical alloying was sintered at 800 °C with various soaking times. All samples showed the signature peak of Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 even with one hour of soaking time. The size distributions show a slow growth of microstructural evolution related to density, porosity and also to the magnetic hysteresis loops. Within these distributions it is observed that the formation of multi-domains is not possible and probably there are the regions of superparamagnetic and single-domain grains. From the permeability studies, it is believed that the rise of the magnetic moment on the B sites give rise to the total saturation magnetization with increase of soaking time. The hysteresis loop of one-hour soaking time showed paramagnetic behavior dominating while longer soaking times showed ferromagnetic behavior starting to dominate. The coercivity was observed to increase with soaking time, signaling the increase of the anisotropy fields which was attributed to the shape anisotropy and also to the magnetocrystalline anisotropy. By correlating the morphology, phase analysis, permeability and hysteresis loops results, it is believed that there was an increase in number of crystalline-growth regions which together formed a total mass of mixed superparamagnetic and ferromagnetic grains with the latter starting to dominate the samples.  相似文献

With the trend for green technology, the study focused on utilizing a forgotten herb to produce an eco-friendly coating. Andrographis paniculata or the kalmegh leaves extract (KLE) has been investigated for its abilities in retarding the corrosion process due to its excellent anti-oxidative and antimicrobial properties. Here, KLE was employed as a novel additive in coatings and formulations were made by varying its wt%: 0, 3, 6, 9, and 12. These were applied to stainless steel 316L immersed in seawater for up to 50 days. The samples were characterized and analyzed to measure effectiveness of inhibition of corrosion and microbial growth. The best concentration was revealed to be 6 wt% KLE; it exhibited the highest performance in improving the ionic resistance of the coating and reducing the growth of bacteria.  相似文献

In the present paper, the effect of nanofluid and the hot obstacle in a Π-shaped cavity is investigated. Lattice Boltzmann method is used to simulate the fluid flow and heat transfer. The effects of the parameters such as the nanoparticle solid volume fraction, the Rayleigh number, aspect ratio of cavity and hot obstacle position on the flow pattern and heat transfer parameters are studied. The numerical results are compared with previous results for validation, and a good agreement obtained. It is found that the average Nusselt number is increased by increasing the nanoparticle solid volume fraction, the Rayleigh number and the aspect ratio of cavity. Moreover, the effect of Rayleigh number on the average Nusselt number at high Rayleigh numbers (105–106) is more pronounced than that at low Rayleigh numbers (103–104) due to the different heat transfer mechanisms. The position of the hot obstacle affects the heat transfer significantly. When the hot obstacle is located on the center, the heat transfer is more effective.

In order to investigate a possible role of lectin activity of ricin in its absorption from the small intestine, we prepared two ricin derivatives. BMH-ricin, prepared by crosslinking A and B chains of ricin with 1,6-bismaleimidohexane, was nearly non-toxic but the lectin activity was unaltered. And, NBS-ricin, prepared by the oxidation of tryptophanyl residues of ricin with N-bromosuccinimide, was not only non-toxic but also non-lectinic. After the oral administration of ricin derivatives to rats, their interaction with the digestive tract and absorption into the circulatory systems have been compared with those of ricin, immunochemically and histologically. It was shown by immunostaining that ricin and BMH-ricin could bind to the intestinal mucosa, whereas NBS-ricin could not. No appreciable damage in the small intestine from rats treated with either BMH-ricin or NBS-ricin has been observed, in contrast to ricin treatment where severe impairment of the small intestinal tissues resulted after 5 h. Immunoreactive ricin in the liver has been determined with the ricin enzyme immunoassay (EIA). When compared at 48 h after oral administration, NBS-ricin was not detected, whereas BMH-ricin was found to be 38 micrograms/liver and ricin 100 micrograms/liver. From these results, it was inferred that the lectin activity of ricin plays an important role in the absorption of ricin from the small intestine and that the absorption of ricin protein was enhanced by its high toxicity.  相似文献
