Collisional Relaxation of Luminescence Anisotropy in Rarefied Gases in the Condensed Phase

The orientational relaxation of optically induced anisotropy in rarefied gases and at a damped rotation has been investigated. It has been found that the anisotropy relaxation in rarefied gases is described by a reduced kinetic equation depending only on free rotation integrals. The behavior of the integral anisotropy of luminescence for free symmetric and asymmetric top molecules has been elucidated. The law of luminescence depolarization has been obtained for asymmetric top molecules in the Gordon J-diffusion model. It represents the sum of two Stern–Volmer-type dependences, whose relative contribution is determined by the orientation of the dipole moments of transitions with absorption and emission of light in the molecular coordinate system and by the principal moments of inertia of the molecular top. It has been established that in the limit of a strongly damped rotation, kinetic equations of the general form reduce to equations of rotational diffusion. A number of modified diffusion equations correctly describing the contribution of inertial effects to the orientational relaxation of anisotropy have been obtained.     

Synthesis of some substituted 3-alkenyl-1-phenylpyrazoles

The regioselective synthesis of new 3-alkenyl-1-phenylpyrazoles 4 from the reaction of phenylhydrazine with 2,3-dihydro-4H-pyran-4-ones 1 is described.     

Synthesis of 3-formyltetronic acid and enamine derivatives

The first reported synthesis of 3-formyltetronic acid and its conversion to enamine derivatives is described. 3-Dimethylaminomethylene-2,4-dioxotetrahydrofuran derivatives were also prepared by treatment of tetronic acids with dimethylformamide diethyl acetal. Nmr spectral studies are included.     

Tetronic acids and derivatives. Part XI . Structure of coupling products of tetronic acids with benzenediazonium sulfate

¹³C Nmr, ¹H nmr and ir parameters of coupling products of tetronic acids (4-hydroxy-5H-furan-2-ones) with benzene diazonium sulfate are only consistent with a phenylhydrazone formulation with an almost equal ratio of the syn and anti configurations. These results contrast with those of coupling products of acyclic 3-ketoesters, existing mainly as anti tautomers, and more sharply with the 3-parabromophenylhydrazone of L-dehydro ascorbic acid, which is exclusively syn.     

Proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and conformational aspects of 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4-chromanone derivatives

The 25 MHz ¹³C and 350 MHz ¹H-nmr spectra of the title compounds are reported. Conformational equilibria in variously substituted 5,6,7,8-tetrahydrochromanones are discussed. Compounds bearing a t-butyl group at the 6 position appear to be conformationally homogenous.     

Synthesis of some 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4-cinnolone derivatives and 1-methyl-3-arylacetyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindazoles

2-Arylidene-3-oxo-2,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydrobenzo[b]furans 2 react with hydrazine hydrate to afford 5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4-cinnolones. By methylation, these compounds gave the corresponding N-1 and N-2 methyl derivatives. The mesoionic compounds are obtained, accompanied by 3-arylacetyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindazoles upon reaction of 2 with methylhydrazine.     

Synthesis of some isomeric 4,11-dihydro-5H-[1]benzoxocino[4,3-d] or [3,4-c]isoxazol-5-ones and isomeric 4,5,10,11-tetrahydrobenzo[5,6]-cycloocta[2,1-d] or [1,2-c]isoxazol-5-ones

The title compounds were prepared by acid-catalyzed cyclization of aryloxymethyl- or (2-arylethyl)-4-carboxymethylisoxazoles which in turn were synthesized from aryloxymethyl- or (2-arylethyl)isoxazole-4-carboxylic acids by Arndt-Eistert homologation.
