Phase diagrams, volumes and heat capacities of aqueous mixtures of 2,6-dimethylpyridine (2,6-L) and 2-isobutoxyethanol (iBE) and activities of 2,6-L in aqueous mixtures were measured in the monophasic region near the lower critical solution temperature (LCST). With 2,6-L some measurement were also made just above the LCST. From the temperature dependence of these data, partial molar relative enthalpies (2,6-L), expansibilities and the temperature derivative of heat capacities were calculated and show that iBE undergoes a microphase transition at low concentration which is not related to the phase separation. On the other hand, the properties of 2,6-L in the water-rich region at temperatures well below the LCST indicates that this solute has only a slight tendency to associate. The heat capacities of 2,6-L show an important increase near the LCST. Such changes are not observed for iBE and other alkoxyethanols and amines since these systems already exist in the form of microphases; the partial molar properties of iBE near the LCST are nearly equal to the molar values of the pure liquid, and the changes in thermodynamic properties corresponding to the macroscopic phase transition, are therefore too small to be measured by the present techniques.  相似文献

Despite its extremely weak adsorption at the water/silica interface, carbofuran can, however, induce the coadsorption of metallic salts, like, for example, lead nitrate, and thus enhance its adsorption. We quantitatively studied this phenomenon with a depletion method and under concentration conditions close to the environmental ones. Heavy metal salt was found to positively adsorb, whereas carbofuran relative adsorption is generally slightly negative. Fluorescent properties of oligonucleotide-conjugated thiazole orange probes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The fluorescence properties of thiazole orange, linked via a (1) hydrophobic alkyl or a (2) hydrophilic ethylene glycol chain to the central internucleotidic phosphate group of a pentadeca-2'-deoxyriboadenylate (dA15), are evaluated. Linkage at the phosphate group yields two stereoisomers, S-isomer of the phosphorus chiral center (Sp) and R-isomer of the phosphorus chiral center (Rp); these are studied separately. The character of the linkage chain and the chirality of the internucleotidic phosphate linkage site influence the fluorescent properties of these thiazole orange-oligonucleotide conjugates (TO-probes). Quantum yields of fluorescence (phifl) of between 0.04 and 0.07 were determined for the single-stranded conjugates. The fluorescence yield increased by up to five times upon hybridization with the complementary sequence (d5'[CACT15CAC3']); (phifl values of between 0.06-0.35 were determined for the double-stranded conjugates. The phifl value (0.17) of thiazole orange, 1-(N,N'-trimethylaminopropyl)-4-[3-methyl-2,3-dihydro-(benzo-1,3-thiazole)-2-methylidene]-quinolinium iodide (TO-Pro 1) in the presence of the oligonucleotide duplex (TO-Pro 1: dA15.d5'[CACT15CAC3'] (1:1)) is much less than that for some of the hybrids of the conjugates. Our studies, using steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence experiments, show that a number of discrete fluorescent association species between the thiazole orange and the helix are formed. Time-resolved studies on the four double-stranded TO-probes revealed that the fluorescent oligonucleotide-thiazole orange complexes are common, only the distribution of the species varies with the character of the chain and the chirality at the internucleotidic phosphate site. Those TO-probes in which the isomeric structure of the phosphate-chain linkage is Rp, and therefore such that the fluorophore is directed toward the minor groove, have higher phifl values than the Sp isomer. Of the systems studied, thiazole orange linked by an alkyl chain to the internucleotidic phosphate (Rp isomer) has the highest phifl and the greatest fraction of the longest-lived fluorescent thiazole orange species (in the hybrid form).  相似文献

We study a free boundary problem for the Laplace operator, where we impose a Bernoulli-type boundary condition. We show that there exists a solution to this problem. We use A. Beurling’s technique, by defining two classes of sub- and super-solutions and a Perron argument. We try to generalize here a previous work of A. Henrot and H. Shahgholian. The synthesis and the pharmacological evaluation of 19 new 4,6-diaryl-3-pyridazinones are reported. All compounds were screened for analgesic, antiinflammatory and antipyretic activities. Introduction of an arylpiperazinomethyl moiety in the 2-position of the pyridazinone ring resulted in the most potent activities. Compounds 2a, 2b, 2h and 2i exhibited a higher analgesic activity than did aspirin or noramidopyrine in the hot plate test.  相似文献

A characterization of the bulk-phase diagram from literature data and new NMR and DSC measurements provided us with valuable elements that are helpful for gaining, from aqueous solution, better insight into the surface behavior of polyethylene glycol on Aerosil 200. Adsorption isotherms built further to measurements by a depletion method showed a strong and temperature-dependent variation of the isotherm shape in agreement with the variations of interactions already evidenced in the bulk. In temperature-concentration areas, where water is behaving as a helix-promoting solvent, the finding of positive PEG adsorptions and stairlike isotherms agrees with observations reported in the literature. We identified some of the vertical parts as corresponding to the formation of monolayers of helix-shaped PEG molecules. In poor-solvent zones, adsorptions were null or negative, and the isotherms exhibited oscillations suggesting very different surface behavior. Our data analysis evidenced the presence of a much greater amount of water than in the previous surface states; however, the similar analysis of PEG behavior remains relevant. Indeed, the occurrence of first-order transitions in the surface layer implies some water reorganization, permitting the PEG molecules to move closer to the surface and become helix-shaped to rearrange in a monolayer. The surface phase diagram confirmed this analysis in a very satisfying way.  相似文献

The behavior of hydroxyl-terminated PEG400 in water was investigated by surface tension measurements and 13C NMR as a function of concentration and temperature. PEG400 exhibited a critical aggregative concentration (cac) that evidenced both its amphiphilic character and its aggregation capacity. Moreover, the chemical shifts of the different carbons of the PEG were followed by NMR versus concentration at various temperatures. We observed a plateau between 20 and 35 degrees C at concentrations above 0.2 mol L(-1) and ascribed it to the aggregation process. A good correlation was found between the NMR spectra in the region of aggregation and the cac region in the phase diagram. Our investigations were also focused on the solid-liquid region of the phase diagram at lower temperatures. These experimental data, together with conclusions available in the literature, led us to propose explanations for the conformation/hydration/aggregation in the PEG400-water solutions phenomena.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the homogeneous one-dimensional wave equation defined on (0,π). For every subset ω?[0,π] of positive measure, every T2π, and all initial data, there exists a unique control of minimal norm in L2(0,T;L2(ω)) steering the system exactly to zero. In this article we consider two optimal design problems. Let L(0,1). The first problem is to determine the optimal shape and position of ω in order to minimize the norm of the control for given initial data, over all possible measurable subsets ω of [0,π] of Lebesgue measure . The second problem is to minimize the norm of the control operator, over all such subsets. Considering a relaxed version of these optimal design problems, we show and characterize the emergence of different phenomena for the first problem depending on the choice of the initial data: existence of optimal sets having a finite or an infinite number of connected components, or nonexistence of an optimal set (relaxation phenomenon). The second problem does not admit any optimal solution except for L=1/2. Moreover, we provide an interpretation of these problems in terms of a classical optimal control problem for an infinite number of controlled ordinary differential equations. This new interpretation permits in turn to study modal approximations of the two problems and leads to new numerical algorithms. Their efficiency will be exhibited by several experiments and simulations.  相似文献
