Acoustic field in a closed layered shell with resonant systems

The acoustic field inside a shell excited by a spatially inhomogeneous harmonic pressure field is studied. The shell is assumed to have a finite length, a set of orthogonal stiffening ribs, two ends bounding the acoustic volume, and a sound-insulating structure, which includes layers of sound-insulating material, resonant elements, and an interior panel. The shell is considered to be orthotropic with boundary conditions corresponding to a free support. For the acoustic field in the closed volume, analytical expressions are derived with allowance for the elastoacoustic interaction of the shell with the sound-insulating layers and with the medium both inside the shell (with arbitrary impedance values at the ends) and outside it. These expressions are used to investigate the effect of different types of resonant systems on the sound field inside the shell.     

Magnetism in disordered magnetic Fe82−xNixCr18

The zero field μSR-method has been used to study the magnetism in the disordered magnetic alloy Fe_82−xNi_xCr₁₈ near the three-critical, pointx=25. The dynamic and static local field distributions are analyzed. The difference between spin-glass states obtained either from the paramagnetic or after the double transition is discussed.     

Reaction of sodium amide with 1-chloromethylsilatrane

The reaction of 1-chloromethylsilatrane with sodium amide in benzene is accompanied by ring expansion with formation of 1-amino-2-carba-3-oxahomosilatrane.

Crystallization of chiral compounds. 1. Spectroscopic,thermochemical, and crystallographic investigation of homochiral and racemic glycidyl p-toluenesulfonate

Crystalline specimens of homochiral and racemic glycidyl p-toluenesulfonate were studied by IR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The melting phase diagram of glycidyl p-toluenesulfonate was constructed. The stacking effect in the crystals of the racemic sulfonate is responsible for a more dense molecular packing, with the result that a heterochiral type of crystallization becomes more favorable.     

Thermal stability of osmium mixed oxides. III. SrOsO3 decomposition products: A new defect pyrochlore Sr2Os2O6.4±0.2

The thermal decomposition of SrOsO₃ has been studied by DTA, thermogravimetry and X-ray powder diffraction. The decomposition of orthorhombic Sr₂Os₂O₇ depends strongly on the partial pressure of air above the samples investigated. In this paper the Sr₂Os₂O_6.4±0.2 pyrochlore formation and some properties of the phase are described. The stability conditions of SrOsO₃ are also discussed.
