1,5-Diazabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanes and 1,6-diazabicyclo[4.1.0]heptanes: a new method for the synthesis,quantum-chemical calculations,and X-ray diffraction study

A new method was developed for the synthesis of 6-substituted 1,5-diazabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanes and 7-substituted 1,6-diazabicyclo[4.1.0]heptanes by condensation of N-monohalotrimethylene- and N-monohalotetramethylenediamines with carbonyl compounds in the presence of bases. X-ray diffraction studies and quantum-chemical B3LYP/6-31G* calculations demonstrated that the conformations of the resulting bicyclic systems are stabilized by stereoelectronic interactions. As a result, a boat conformation prevails in 1,5-diazabicyclo[3.1.0]hexanes, whereas the energies of chair, half-chair, and boat conformations of 1,6-diazabicyclo[4.1.0]heptanes are equalized.     

Synthesis of methyl[N-alkyl(aryl)aminomethyl]difurfuryloxy silanes and methyl[N-alkyl(aryl)aminomethyl]ditetrahydrofurfury loxysilanes

Transesterification of methyl[N-alky(aryl)aminomethyl]-diethoxysilanes with furfuryl and tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohols gives four new substituted furfuryloxysilanes and three new substituted tetrahydrofur-furyloxysilanes, with a secondary or tertiary amino group in the organic group. Some of the physical properties, as well as the IR spectra of the compounds, are given.     

Methylation of mono- and dicarboxylic acids with dimethyl carbonate catalyzed with binder-free zeolite NaY

Synthesis of methyl mono- and dicarboxylates was developed consisting in treating the corresponding acids with dimethyl carbonate in the presence of a heterogenic catalyst, crystalline aluminosilicate whose mechanically strong granules to 90–95% were built of crystal aggregates of zeolite Y with modulus of about 5.0 in the Na-form. Optimum catalyst and reagents ratio and the reaction conditions were found for the preparation in high yields of methyl esters of mono- and dicarboxylic acids.     

Synthesis of 1,3-dimethyladamantane by skeletal rearrangement of C12H18 and C12H20 hydrocarbons over Na/H-Y-zeolite

Granular binder-free Y-zeolite with a degree of Na⁺/H⁺ ion exchange of 0.97 efficiently catalyzed isomerization of tetracyclo[6.2.1.1^3,6.0^2,7]dodecane and (2aR,5aα,8aR,8bα)-dodecahydroacenaphthene (perhydroacenaphthene) to 1,3-dimethyladamantane.     

Synthesis of binder-free granulated MOR-type zeolite with hierarchic pore structure

A procedure was developed for preparing an aluminosilicate with a hierarchic pore structure and granules in the form of united polycrystalline concretions of MOR-type zeolite in the Na form. The procedure includes the step of mixing of MOR-type powdered zeolite with kaolin and white carbon black, granule forming, granule calcination, and crystallization in an autoclave in a sodium silicate solution.     

Synthesis of (E)-4-phenyl-3-buten-2-one by the reaction of styrene with acetic anhydride in the presence of zeolite catalysts

The high catalytic activity and selectivity of zeolites HBeta and HZSM-12 were found in the synthesis of (E)-4-phenyl-3-buten-2-one by the reaction of styrene with acetic anhydride.     

Synthesis of 1-(2-oxopropyl)adamantane from 1-bromo(chloro)adamantanes and isopropenyl acetate in the presence of iron and manganese compounds

An efficient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 1-(2-oxopropyl)adamantane by reaction of 1-bromo(chloro)adamantanes with isopropenyl acetate in the presence of manganese and iron compounds.
